Imagine waking up to news that the vast, shimmering waters of the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean have been renamed "Trump Ocean." For generations, these oceans have been known by these historic names, signifying their importance to not just the United States, but to the entire world. The proposal to rename them after a president who has become famously controversial poses not just a bureaucratic nuisance, but an affront to national and global heritage.

President Donald Trump, embroiled in scandals that range from attempting to subvert democracy by rigging the midterm elections to being implicated in the notorious Epstein Files, is further alienating himself from the populace. We have witnessed the impact of his presidency—states renamed against public sentiment, millions stripped of their healthcare, and a man who is perceived more as a despot than a democratic leader.

Statistically, Trump's approval ratings have plummeted to as low as 30%, and this eccentric bid to stamp his name on the oceans is a desperate grasp for relevance. Should this trend continue, it is projected that by New Year's, merely 15-19% of Americans would support him.

The repercussions of renaming oceans after such a divisive figure are profound. It disrespects the democratic values we hold dear and belittles the seriousness of protecting the sanctity of our natural world. We must act now, vehemently opposing this naming proposal before it becomes a reality.

This petition seeks to hold federal judges and the Supreme Court accountable, urging them to halt any movements toward renaming these great oceans. Their current names are symbols of history and unity, transcending politics and personal legacies.

Sign this petition and stand with us as we protect the dignity of our national monuments and reject any further tarnishing of our global reputation. We must take action before irreversible damage is done. Together, we can prevent this egotistical erosion of our world’s natural treasures.
