My friend has always cherished the magic Disney brings to our screens. It’s not just him; millions of fans across the world eagerly anticipate authentic stories and beloved characters that touch our hearts. Recently, Disney's decision to partner with OpenAI for a whopping $1 billion investment threatens this very essence. While technology is pivotal in many areas, the influence of AI in creating Disney content may lead to unforeseen damage to cherished franchises.

Details of this controversial 3-year deal include allowing users on Sora to AI-generate videos featuring characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars. A selection of these AI-generated videos will even appear on Disney+. Although the agreement notably excludes any talent likenesses or voices, we have to question where the boundary will lie between inspiration and pure corporatism.

Furthermore, Disney’s intention to utilize OpenAI's APIs for crafting new products, tools, and employee solutions like ChatGPT diverges from traditional storytelling methods, potentially alienating loyal fans. Disney has always been a haven for creativity, handcrafted magic, and unforgettable characters. With AI at the helm, we risk losing the human touch that cannot be replicated by any machine.

This isn't just about disliking AI; it's about preserving the heart and soul of what makes Disney special. We must remind Disney that their greatest asset is the connection they have with their audience, a connection rooted in genuineness and passion.

Let’s encourage Disney to rethink this deal and focus on what truly matters: maintaining the trust and love of their fans. Please sign this petition to prevent AI from taking over our beloved Disney experience and ensure authentic storytelling continues to reign supreme.
