As a lifelong fan of the Spider-Man series, and especially the recent iterations by Insomniac Games, I was beyond excited to hear about the planned DLCs for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in the December 2023 leaks. These additions were to focus on the character arcs of the Beetle (Janice Lincoln), Carnage, and even feature elements from Across the Spider-Verse. Sadly, the development on these DLCs were abruptly halted, leaving many gamers like myself deeply disappointed. My love for this game and the characters deeply embedded in its narrative compels me to request the reinstatement of these comprehensive DLCs.

The decision to cancel them has not only affected the experience of playing the game but has also reduced the richness of the Spider-Man universe in this gaming series. As an example, Marvel's Spider-Man, the predecessor of this game, benefitted immensely from the inclusion of three separate DLCs that expanded on the Spider-Man franchise universe, enhancing overall player immersion and increasing game replayability. Similar positive results could be expected with the reinstatement of the planned DLCs for Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

To resolve this, we urge Insomniac Games to incorporate these cancelled DLCs in an upcoming Venom spin-off video game, a third installment of the Insomniac Spider-Man series or an extended edition of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Not only would it fulfill the anticipations of the countless fans who were waiting to play these DLCs but it could also increase the richness and popularity of this beloved game series, potentially making it even better than when it was first released on October 20th a year ago.
