**Concerned Citizens Oppose Nuclear Reactors on the Moon**

NASA's plan to install a nuclear reactor on the moon, with the backing of Donald Trump, has stirred mounting concern among experts and citizens alike. As someone deeply committed to maintaining space as a peaceful and neutral territory, I am alarmed by the potential consequences of this project. Experts warn that by placing a nuclear reactor on the lunar surface, we risk endangering international treaties that aim to keep space peaceful and cooperative for all nations.

The prospect of leaving radioactive waste on the moon is not only environmentally reckless but could also spark international conflicts over the militarization and control of space. A reactor, with its intrinsic risks and uncertainties, proposes a massive gamble not only on the sanctity of space but also on global peace.

The project's cost, which runs into billions of taxpayer dollars, stands in stark contrast to the pressing needs back on Earth. Investing in a largely untested and highly dangerous venture on the moon when we have urgent environmental, social, and infrastructure challenges on our planet is not justifiable.

Nuclear power, while significant on Earth, is fraught with challenges and risks, particularly in the unknown and fragile lunar environment. Radioactive waste could linger for centuries, posing threats we may not even be able to comprehend fully today.

Instead of rushing nuclear power into space, it is essential that NASA focus on sustainable and tested alternatives, such as solar energy. This would not only ensure a more stable and safe energy source but also promote international cooperation and mutual trust in space exploration efforts.

Join thousands of concerned citizens in urging Congress to reconsider this hazardous venture. We need to prioritize peace and sustainability in space. Your signature can make a difference. Sign the petition to stop the lunar nuclear reactor project today!
