For decades, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, known as E3, has been the centerpiece of excitement and innovation in the gaming industry. Spending countless hours watching new previews, gameplays, and announcements was an annual tradition that gamers like myself eagerly awaited. It was a vibrant event bringing together developers, publishers, media, and fans, all sharing the love for video games.

In 2023, E3 was unfortunately disestablished, partly due to the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The accelerated use of standalone digital presentations by individual publishers, intended to curb the challenges of the pandemic, became a prevalent alternative. However, something is missing: the unmatched thrill and community spirit that came with E3.

E3 was not just a convention; it was a hallmark event shaping the gaming calendar. Development timelines were built around it, fostering an environment of progress and competition among developers and publishers. Yet concerns over disrupted timelines and escalating costs led to its discontinuation.

Reinstating E3 would reinvigorate the gaming ecosystem by restoring a centralized platform for showcasing innovation. Such a platform complements the Summer Game Fest by Geoff Keighley, scheduled for June 5-8, creating a sequence of fascinating events. With both events existing harmoniously, fans would experience a continuous flow of fresh content, excitement bridging just one month apart.

For gamers around the world, E3 was more than a gathering; it was a stage of dreams where we anticipated groundbreaking announcements and memorable moments. Bringing E3 back would once again align the gaming industry's calendar, optimizing presentation schedules and letting developers focus on what they do best: creating remarkable experiences for players.

We urge the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) to reassess the importance of E3 and work towards bringing it back. Re-establishment of E3 promises economic opportunities for exhibitors and fosters global interaction within the gaming industry.
