Discovery Inc. While the intention is to avoid any sale, Paramount is willing to sacrifice these beloved kids channels if the EU flags the overlaps between Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network as a threat to fair competition.

The EU's scrutiny is significant, with the focus heavily on the overlap between these iconic networks that have been an integral part of our childhood. Losing any of these networks could considerably impact the diversity and richness of children's entertainment, depriving generations of invaluable, creative content that fosters imagination and learning.

Children's television networks, like Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, have played essential roles in providing educational content and shaping cultural conversations. Their existence ensures that children across Europe and beyond have access to diverse voices and stories that nourish young minds and entertain them in meaningful ways.

Though informal remedies are yet to be proposed and the deadline of July 7 looms, a decision must preserve the essence of these programming giants. By maintaining these networks intact, we ensure competitive balance while protecting the artistic integrity and educational value of children’s content.
