While AI offers innovative capabilities, the emphasis on Shorts and AI-generated content is diverting focus from the authentic, longer-form content that many of us cherish and enjoy.

In December, it was reported that over one million channels used YouTube's AI creation tools daily. This trend may bring intriguing technological advancements, but it also raises ethical concerns, such as using the likenesses of deceased actors without their consent. Such developments could potentially mislead audiences and undermine the creative integrity of the platform.

As someone who values longer content, I believe YouTube should prioritize supporting creators who produce in-depth videos, whether they are about beloved video games, TV shows, or movies. This is the content that has built the community and kept viewers engaged – not superficial, short-form creations generated for the sake of trends.

Moreover, while CGI and AI could offer fantastic opportunities, such as potentially revitalizing figures like James Dean in films like "Back To Eden," it's crucial that these technologies are used responsibly and ethically, ensuring they reflect the wishes and rights of those portrayed.

Therefore, I urge YouTube to consider appointing a CEO who is committed to supporting real content creators and ensuring the integrity and richness of their work are top priorities. It is essential that YouTube remains a platform that supports genuine creativity and does not lose its essence to emerging technologies that may not always respect creative and ethical boundaries.
