In our beautiful town of Gympie, where community spirit thrives, we face a challenge that many of us have discussed time and time again. For many years, our town has been served by only two small cinemas, and while we've cherished them, the limited seating capacity often makes it difficult for families and friends to enjoy a movie night together.

I fondly recall my time in Caloundra, where a short drive away in Maroochydore, a larger cinema complex awaits. It was always buzzing with energy and life, filled with people eager to watch new films. The ability to book a movie at almost any time was a small luxury I miss dearly. Returning to Gympie, the contrast is clear. Our cinemas, while beloved, are simply not equipped to handle the growing demand of our ever-expanding community.

Building a larger movie theatre complex in Gympie would not only meet this demand but could also breathe new life into our town. With more seating and a wider selection of films and showtimes, we would see an increase in attendance, leading to more social gatherings and community events centered around cinema culture. This, in turn, could attract more residents to our area, further enriching the fabric of our community.

It's time to give Gympie the entertainment hub it deserves – a place where everyone can enjoy the magic of the movies without the hassle of limited seating or restricted showtimes. By expanding our current facilities, we can ensure that generations to come can enjoy all the joys of cinema.
