Skateboarding is more than just a sport or hobby; its a global culture that promotes creativity, self-expression, and community. From urban streets to skate parks, skateboarders push boundaries and challenge norms through their passion for the sport. Petitions in this topic focus on advocating for skate park accessibility, challenging anti-skateboarding laws, and promoting skateboarding as a positive outlet for youth.
One petition with thousands of signatures calls for more public skate parks in underserved communities, highlighting the lack of safe spaces for skaters to practice their craft. Another petition addresses discriminatory laws that criminalize skateboarding in certain areas, arguing for the recognition of skateboarding as a legitimate form of recreation.

Skateparks are everywhere on the west coast. They bring together youth and provide a sense of community and support for many who do not have it elsewhere.
Yesss!!!!! A skate park in Tappahannock would be amazing !! It brings people together, it helps us teach each other, it gives people and children a family who may not have it else where. We need our children safe and having fun a skate park would do exactly that!!!
I just started off a couple days ago, and ive been timid to start skating for awhile now. And I was even more afraid that I couldnt go to a skatepark with the fear I might be embrassed. But the community here has been nothing but accepting and helpful. Ive skated for about 7 or 8 days, and I already feel moderately comfortable with the board. I think if we can get this park official. I feel not only the Biloxi's skating communuty could be stronger, but Biloxi's community as a whole.
This would be A GREAT THING FOR THE YOUTH! When I was in high school I skated and absolutely loved it! It kept me out of trouble and it was cool skating. Please bring this to our little troubled town and let's give the kids something fun to learn and a way to come together! ❤️
NE minneapolis does not have a park with transition! It only has one tiny outdated park and a new/bigger one would be heavily utilized. The skating community here is huge and this would only help it grow.
I have been skateboarding this park since it opened, I brought my son there when he learning how to ride a board. In my opinion this is the only skatepark in Sacramento that is covered, a safe environment for children to skateboard year round, a great place to ride a skateboard for all skill levels.
It surprising how much use a good skate park gets in a community. There are more skateboarders around than people realize, whole families sometimes, kids AND their parents, who want a place to ride together. And it's often a major draw for shore towns. People like to plan family trips to a fun family-oriented shore area that also has a skatepark. Having a boardwalk in the area with food and rides and games and a beach, AND a skatepark would really help with area tourism
