Growing up, some of my fondest memories involve visiting my local Blockbuster store in Wurtulla to purchase DVDs and games. The excitement of choosing a movie for family night or discovering a new game was an experience that shaped my childhood. Unfortunately, like many others, I was deeply saddened when Blockbuster closed the store near my house.

Blockbuster, once a beloved hub for entertainment seekers, has now become a relic of the past. Rebranded as BB Liquidating, Inc., the chain has shrunk to a solitary franchised store in Bend, Oregon as of 2014, leaving a void in the way we experience physical media. With only one remaining store worldwide, it's time to bring back Blockbuster's magic and reinvent it for the modern age.

In the current era of rapidly evolving digital streaming, there is a unique opportunity to revive Blockbuster's legacy by establishing it as an entertainment division that can coexist alongside online platforms. By hiring a new leadership dedicated to this vision, Blockbuster could open new stores in countries like Australia and the United States, offering a curated selection of DVDs and games, alongside streaming services and nostalgic in-store experiences.

Blockbuster could pave the way for a hybrid shopping experience, much like JB Hi-Fi, juxtaposing the tangible joy of browsing shelves with the convenience of digital services. This revival could support local economies by creating jobs and fostering community spaces where people can gather and enjoy entertainment together.
