My family moved here from Washington state where, my wife and I owned our vehicles. When we moved here, we thought it would be the same but, come to find out we don't. I don't see the reason to pay the government for something we already own and have paid for, in full. Not to mention, Pittsylvania county just passed an increase in sales tax.

Continuing to tax me on something I paid taxes on up front is like buying a bag of chips, paying the price plus tax, and then being taxed daily for having them in your pantry. What is the difference?

I clearly see why Virginia’s unemployment rate rises and why people are moving out. Families have been struggling and continue to financially. Why add another burden into their pockets? You have endless inflation and a rising market with home rate increases. How is it even possible to become a homeowner? It is embarrassing to us now as a family we made the Mistake to live in the East Coast and chose Virginia. You can do better Virginia and stop this. Or you will continue to see rising unemployment, residents moving out and your homeless population will start looking like California. But Honestly we rather Move back to California regardless. The quality in customer service is even better. As I look around when I am out and about what I see is a Misery look on residents here. Makes sense now. I am astonished and disgusted how this states government is charging this bill for car owners. Your people are struggling while you bank billions of dollars on them yearly.

How should anyone have to continue to pay taxes on something theyve already been taxed for?? Do away with land and property taxes! That means: home, land, vehicles, etc.!!

I get so upset when I see that we have a surplus of billions of dollars and the government just goes how can we use this to cater to more tourists instead of giving it’s residents a real break from the constant shake down for our paychecks.
Joseph supported: Help Virginia Families: Let's End Personal Property Tax Together!I own a business here in Virginia and have two business vehicles , the treasure office say I have to pay personal property taxes on business vehicles which I have not yet paid and now they have suspended my registrations and I cannot operate my business until I pay the personal property taxes, I asked if I can do a payment plan and they said yes, however you can renew your registrations until the taxes are paid in full. I have lost customers and new business opportunities and could potentially lose my business, they hold your whole life hostage. This is such a scam

When I buy a car I already need to pay for the car, the sales tax, registration, and insurance but now I have to pay more than that every year until the end of time because I live in this state? Sales tax, registration, property tax: taxed three times for the same thing. On top of the insanity of this tax, just think about how bad it is for the environment. I will buy a worth nothing beater car with a terrible exhaust to avoid the thousands in taxes I would have to pay each year with this tax for having a modern car.

They are extremely underpaid and do not make enough to support their family's. A firefighter/emt should not need 2 roommates to just barely pay rent. Let's support them and force Brevard County to give BCFR a bigger budget in regard to salary

It is crazy to have the men and women struggling financially and being left behind in today's competitive pay markets. The county can do better and needs to act quickly before we have bigger problem than under payed employees and being understaffed. Brevard County residents stand with the Firefighters.
