I need my Medicaid as I’m disabled and I have COPD and high blood pressure and mental illnesses that require medication for me to be stable. It will turn my world upside down and everyone else else’s if I couldn’t get access to my medication.

Recently I have developed severe cataracts, which must be operated on soon. If they cut Medicaid (or touch Medicare), I will have to go thru life, semi-blind. This is beyond a glasses prescription. I can hardly see. I am only able to use the computer with high contrast and other aids. Many, besides me, mostly on Disability, are needful of both programs-- both Medicare and Medicaid.
in addition, although I am no longer in the age category for work requirements, it has been shown that such requirements are ultimately wasteful and add little. And finally, this bill -- now going to the Senate-- affects little children and Seniors who require Medicaid to stay alive. Please contact your senators, and tell them NOT to cut Medicaid (or SNAP). As a resident of Mineola I already pay Village taxes plus a tax for the Nassau Police Headquarters that is actually in Garden City, not Mineola. Mind you I also pay normal NCPD taxes. School taxes are also through the roof. I like living here but with real estate house prices going up so fast due to inventory, I can’t keep up with the taxes, since they are directly related to 100% assessed value. It is a shame that I will have to consider moving. I’m sure other residents feel the same. Any increase in taxes would add another nail in the coffin. Concerned citizen.
