In November, North Hempstead Councilman Robert Troiano proposed an amendment to the Supervisor’s budget to cut Town taxes by 22%. 

To everyone's surprise, the Supervisor responded by saying, “I was upset that it even had to be considered,” and abruptly and defiantly adjourned the meeting before the vote on the tax cut plan could take place.

The Democratic council members were all deeply upset. You should be, too— the Town is sitting on excessive reserves while residents are grappling with rising costs. This is your money, and it should be returned to you.
