Support Communities: Pledge Your OBBB Tax Cut

The Issue

OBBB's recent tax cut will slash much-needed public funding for essential programs and services, impacting those who rely on them the most. The associated spending cuts will lead to reduced access to healthcare and food assistance for vulnerable Americans, slower progress toward a green future, and grave harm to many who relied on our foreign aid.

At East Boston Social Centers, where I am CEO, we saw massive needs before these spending cuts. Too often in our communities, an entire family lives in just one bedroom. Triple deckers house more than 30 residents, as everyone struggles to make ends meet. Our Every Child Shines program recently surveyed participating parents and found that 39% of families had experienced food insecurity in the past month.

While advocating to restore public funding is critical, we must also take immediate action by pledging our OBBB tax cut back to community-based organizations. This grassroots effort will replenish some of the resources our neighborhoods risk losing, by supporting organizations that provide crucial services to those in need.

Participating in this pledge allows you to choose where to direct your tax cut, empowering you to support local initiatives that resonate with you and match your values. Suggested beneficiaries include community-based organizations, food banks, foreign aid NGOs, and United Ways.

Join us in this collective effort to bridge the gap caused by these spending cuts. Stand with us, and help ensure that every child, every family, has the support they require to thrive.

Please sign this petition and pledge your OBBB tax cut to support vital community-based organizations.

Then calculate your tax cut with tools like this one: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/interactive/2025/trump-big-beautiful-bill-your-taxes-cuts/

Finally, choose your beneficiary organization(s).  Give beyond your normal charitable giving.  Set up automatic monthly giving to ensure your support continues.

Together, we will make a difference.
