We love visiting Napa Valley and always make a point to visit the small wineries that truly make NV unique. It seems like the county government continues to try and put these wonderful small wineries out of business rather than promoting them and helping them thrive.

The county of Napa’s planning commission and supervisors seem to have no reluctance to add capacity and visitation for Treasury, Constellation and other large wine producers. However, it seems that what started the NV wine success were family producers and growers. I know that money buys political access and approvals. Somehow, it would seem possible to accommodate both.

We've been coming to Napa 1-2x a year for decades, and its criminal that California in general and Napa in particular make it so difficult for people to conduct business. Complain about big business but make it increasingly difficult for family businesses to operate. Push smaller businesses to sell out to big businesses that are better able to absorb exorbitant fees / taxes that feed politics. Unfortunately I know of several other family wineries that've been around for decades who have been unfairly harassed for conducting business in a manner that doesn't impede on the privacy or well-being of neighbors or customers. Truly sad.
