We, the parents and guardians of St. René Goupil, are coming together to respectfully urge the school board and decision-makers to keep Dr. Kelly Manning as our principal. Dr. Manning has been an outstanding leader whose passion, dedication, and care have created a nurturing and inspiring environment for our children. Under her guidance, St. René Goupil has become a place where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed—not just academically, but as well-rounded individuals. To relocate Dr. Manning would be a significant loss to our school community. Her leadership brings stability, vision, and heart—qualities that cannot be easily replaced. We believe her continued presence is essential to maintaining the positive momentum and strong sense of community we’ve built together.

Subject: Concerns Regarding Conduct and Accountability of Jocelyn Auger I express serious concerns regarding the conduct and decision-making of Jocelyn Auger, as well as the systemic lack of accountability observed among various levels of the educational administration in matters involving my child and others. There have been multiple instances in which discriminatory actions were taken against my daughter, who lives with complex medical needs related to Type 1 Diabetes. These include, but are not limited to: A refusal to receive or participate in training on diabetes management, even when a certified educator was offered at no cost to the school. A prolonged refusal to revise a critical medical care plan, despite evidence that the outdated version was negatively impacting my daughter's physical and mental well-being. Inappropriate and unfounded accusations that my daughter was "not treating" her blood sugar, made by untrained staff. I have documentation showing that her blood sugar levels were never in a dangerous range that day, and that she was effectively managing a stubborn high under my guidance. Efforts to "educate" my daughter using fear-based tactics about the dangers of untreated hypoglycemia, without any prior consultation with myself—despite my daughter's thorough understanding of her condition since early childhood. Intimidation and threats, including the possibility of banning me from school premises, for urgently requesting that her care plan be revised prior to an arbitrary "communication meeting" that delayed appropriate action for two months. In addition to these issues, Ms. Auger has demonstrated a troubling pattern of avoiding accountability and parental involvement. She has: Refused to permit children to call home when they request parental assistance. Used isolation from class and placement in her office as a disciplinary measure, without notifying parents. Acted contrary to pre-arranged plans discussed with parents on the same day. Displayed visible anger when parents arrive to support their children, treating such involvement as unwelcome or disruptive. Attempts to collaborate and offer constructive education on managing my daughter's condition have been met with resistance, deflection, and at times, hostility. Ms. Auger has engaged in behavior that includes gaslighting, veiled threats, and reputational smearing, all of which appear intended to dissuade parents from pursuing necessary accountability or advocating for their children's well-being. It is deeply concerning to witness a school leader using tactics that prioritize institutional control over the health and safety of students. I respectfully request that these matters be reviewed at the highest level, and that immediate steps be taken to ensure transparency, proper training, and a culture of collaboration between families and staff moving forward.

Neurodivergent children and those with certain needs deserve unwavering support, patience, and understanding from every adult entrusted with their care. When staff fail to meet these basic responsibilities, it’s not just a lack of training — it’s a failure of empathy and ethics. No child should feel unsafe, unseen, or unworthy in a space meant to nurture them. It is time for real accountability and meaningful change. Our children are not the problem — the system that allows neglect and exclusion is. I am so sorry this is happening to you and many others. 🙏

My kids went through this during their years in the public school system. A system that victimizes victims repeatedly and entitles the bullies because “ they deserve a right to education too” well my kids and now my grandchildren deserve a right to receive their education without fear of being beaten or worse!

My 6 yearold loves Armstrong Elementary! I noticed early on that Mrs. Val knew him by name from day one & would comment on him betimes to me, after school when she was getting kids ready for the bus. This kind of careful attention is exactly what gives kids the chance to thrive. Please let us keep our principal at AES!

After reading through all the comments I am deeply saddened. Saddened that so many children and families have and are struggling to have their needs met and voices heard at HCCS. It is clear there is a lack of action when it comes to addressing concerns and meeting children’s needs. Our son too has struggled with bullying at HCCS. We have found approaching most staff and administration to be a frustrating experience resulting in no changes. He has been hit, kicked, tripped, pushed into walls, teased, had numerous personal possessions broken intentionally by other students. Initially we were quick to attempt contact to discuss these issues with staff and administration. However our concerns were repeatedly disregarded, we were told there’s really nothing that can be done, or there was little to no consequence or follow up with the students bullying our son and destroying his possessions. This is simply unacceptable. Children should be safe and comfortable at school, with no fear of physical or emotional harm. They should also feel safe to approach administration to report bullying, which is something our son feels he can no longer do, fearing the situation will be turned against him and he will be punished, or seeking help will make the situation worse. He has told us repeatedly that the principal doesn’t care and nothing will be done, so there is no point in seeking help, and honestly I’m not sure he’s wrong. Everyday when getting him ready for school I wonder what kind of day he will have, worry about the bullying he might face, and question why nothing ever seems to change. It breaks my heart to see him resigned and shut down getting on the bus in the morning. No child should dread their day at school. Clearly, given the number of other families in the same position there needs to be change at HCCS.

My brother spent most of his years at holland chatsworth coming home distraught from the mistreatment by students and staff, anytime we tried to do anything we got brushed off. Sad to see how little they care.
