It would pull thousands of liters of water from our reservoirs every hour, tightning the screws on the same supply that makes us chose between lawn watering and food gardens every July. If not treated correctly it would also pollute our beautiful rivers and change our ecosystem. That same water could stay in the rivers to keep the salmon eggs cool, flow through taps furing the next drought, and so much more.

As an artist I absolutely HATE generative AI with a burning passion as it steals from people like myself and its a way for corporations to avoid paying artists, graphic designers, and other creatives for their hard work just to accumulate more money for their endless greed, art and creativity is what makes us human and what makes humans special. Beyond the blatant disregard for the importance of human identity, data centers use an astronomical amount of water to cool the systems which is detrimental for the environment of our beautiful island. And furthermore the AI center will take an incredible amount of electricity to run which will very likely skyrocket our power bills, so if you don't care about human art you should at least care about the impact this will have on our environment and our wallets. Please sign this petition and donate if you can, I don't want this trash in our city.

Ai will destroy the indigenous lands that Canada has stolen, and poison the waters for all of us. It is stealing jobs, it is stealing creativity; and as a student of a high-school, it is stealing students motivation, literary skills, and drive to improve and do things on our own. As a victim of chantbots myself, I can confidently say I feel less skilled in my writing, my creativity, and my thoughts. As an aspiring artist I fear for the world of art and creativity because so many people use ai to make "art" that steals fom other real artist, I fear for writers who will/are being accused of using ai. I fear for the youth's who are growing up with ai constantly shoved down our throats. Constantly advertised or inserted into outer day to day, even if we try to google something, we use ai unintentionally with the AI overview, wich is wrong or provides fallacies at times.

As a long standing Toronto resident, I’m shocked and disheartened that the flagpole outside city hall will be used to fly the flag of another country. Given what the Palestinian flag has come to represent over the months since October 7, 2023, it is simply nonsense to say this decision is different from supporting any cause. When the raising of this flag makes a large portion of Toronto community members feel physically and psychologically unsafe, it is time to rethink the plan.

As I reflect on Remembrance Day on the pure evil that once was in 1939-1945, it is scary what is happening in the world w far right & far left rhetoric & movements It will affect us all in TO Ontario Canada & abroad I know my husband & I upon visiting the Nova music fest installation, could never forget the horrid images heinous acts & what was done to women This was another Holocaust We have homegrown terrorism even in Toronto w plots that have been foiled My husband & I supported Israel’s right to defend itself We denounce the terrorism of Hamas & others I feel the world has not learned & I lose faith in humanity Having had a father-in-law who was a war veteran I know all too well the horrors of those who seek to destroy dehumanize & who don’t care about young people As long as governments ignore crises or use their own agenda to sow more division & less unity in Canada & cities a bleak world more so is created for our kids & grandkids Stop inviting more terrorism into Ca nada now! Canada must show respect to all communities but not invite terror Learn from history!

Zhila Sadeghi, who holds a U.S. green card, is a well-known TV host in Iran who has repeatedly promoted anti-American propaganda on state television. She has openly expressed hostility toward the United States, its people, and its leaders, and has been associated with the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps). Numerous videos exist of her making extreme statements against America and even threatening President Trump. This is easily verifiable with a simple search. It is deeply concerning that someone with such views and affiliations is allowed to benefit from U.S. residency. This raises serious national security concerns. I strongly urge U.S. immigration authorities and Marco Rubio to immediately review her case, revoke her green card if necessary, and take appropriate action to protect the American people.

As a grade 12 student set to graduate in June of 2026, the strike has set my class back significantly. Diplomas will only worsen our final grade for the semester, and it will effect acceptance into post secondary schools. Three weeks is a lot of time to be learning, and getting set up for diplomas will be incredibly stressful for students. It is crucial that we are able to have a good year despite the time missed, and the cancelation of the diplomas is a huge part of that.

As a student taking 2 diploma courses, The amount of time missed from the strike is too much to cram for the exam in January. Almost a month of class time was missed, which for some courses, is the length of a topic or unit, or potentially more. Students will be forced to cram the missed work, and classes will be forced to go faster which could lead to topics being glossed over or skipped. Meaning that students will not have the required class time to study for the diploma. This will place more stress on the students who already have their futures at university/college at stakes.

I'm a 12th grade student who spent the past month studying harder than ever before, but - because of my Autism, ADHD, and OCD - the change in routine greatly impacted in my ability to learn. We have been robbed of a whole month of school (a quarter of our semester); we have been doomed from the start. What is the use of taking diplomas that the province has set us up to fail, simply because it's more convenient for them? Why should anyone be punished for practicing standard democracy?
