Property taxes are high enough for services offered and to see them skyrocket arbitrarily every year is ridiculous. In our neighborhood the city does not maintain the streets. In our neighborhood the police does not patrol hardly ever. Our neighborhood floods every time a hard rain occurs. I see where WISD is offering “migrant “ services. Why? I can’t afford to keep paying more to uncaring government officials.
The price of eggs in my area used to be about $4 at the most and now they are at about $ 8 to $10. I used to regularly have eggs for breakfast almost everyday but now I haven't had eggs for weeks because of how expensive they are. Eggs are such a important food because of all the protein and just good stuff that's in them. Eggs have been a great way for me to get some food in but now I don't dare buy eggs because of their price.
I have severe food allergies and IBS-D so I can only eat two foods. Eggs and millet. Millet and eggs. If I can't eat my dozen to 18 eggs a day I will starve. I can't afford these prices. the corporations celebrating record profits prove they are charging more than they need to make up the losses due to bird flu!
I have had checks garnished by the state of Alaska by the Department of transportation. Also, I have seen a mini Alaskans lose all their dividends for child support or debt to Department of corrections and this includes all energy and extra special dividends or stimulus payments are also taken. This is unconstitutional as it’s not fair to all the people
It's honestly kind of offensive how expensive eggs have gotten. They're just eggs! For so many people, especially those on tight budgets like students, low-income families, and citizens with a single income that barely get by, eggs have always been a reliable, affordable source of protein and nutrition. Seeing the price of a basic grocery staple skyrocket like this is incredibly frustrating.
We're told it's bird flu and inflation, but then you hear whispers and see reports suggesting possible price gouging and companies making huge, perhaps even "egregious," profits during this time? That feels incredibly unfair. While everyday Americans are struggling just to keep up with the cost of living and put food on the table, the price of a necessity like eggs is through the roof, and there's a real concern that some in the industry might be exploiting the situation.
That's why it's so important for the FTC to investigate. We need transparency and accountability. We need to know why this essential food item is suddenly so unaffordable, and if unfair practices are at play, they need to be stopped. Affordable eggs aren't a luxury; they're something everyone should be able to access.
I have a young daughter that is almost 2, two step-sons that are 7 & 8, and of course my partner and I here in the house. I work as much as I possibly can and we’re struggling to even keep food on the table most of the time. Eggs were always a healthy, high protein option, that was affordable. Here where I live, a dozed eggs is $7. How is that even in the realm of realistic? We haven’t heard anything more about the bird flu, because it’s not the cause anymore (if it ever was.) Stop these big companies from doing this to us.
My son can't even buy eggs for my grandchildren. It used to be one of the cheapest foods you could buy, plus they are good for you. I have seen prices as high as $16 Before you tell us to stop complaining, how about you buy them for us, Mr. Trump.
Good day, My name is John Martindale. I have been on SSDI since 2015 for a long list of ongoing health issues.
I want to let you know that at the end of the day, My "COLA" isn't a benefit.
Here's why: Every year I get a COLA, however I am on Section 8/HUD on a sliding scale. So my portion of rent goes Up! Then DSHS lowers my food assistance, because now on paper, I make to much. I am currently living on $1200. A year. I voted for You! ❤️💯%
Please, fix this injustice, with housing and DSHS taking my COLA Every year.
May you go down in history as the Man who Blessed "We the people" And Saved America from the destruction within. God bless! ❤️💯%
Being a single mom/single parent HOH in this day and age is very hard financially. We need all the help we can get for household items and daily provisions. Having tariffs put on bare necessities that we have to use that is NOT made here is another hardship. It would make it better to know exactly how much more we're paying with knowing how much the taxes are!
Many teenagers, like myself, are politically educated and want a say in who rules our country. If the voting age is lowered, it means that younger voices would be heard, it would promote more voting, and possibly encourage more teens to educate themselves politically to prepare. Sixteen year olds should be allowed to vote and stand for what they believe in.
