Urgent call to action!!! Fpl has formed a pro data center alliance

Good Morning,
As we all know FPL cannot be trusted. When they took over Gulf Power in 2022, they said our bills would go up $10-$15. They lied, bills doubled and trippled. After suffering the largest increase in Florida history they said our bills would go down in 4 years. Here we are 4 years later. Have your bills gone down? No, I don't think so, lied again. Now resource guzzling data centers are popping up all over the country. They use enormous amounts of electricity and fresh drinking water, while contaminating aquifers in the process. They create noise and light pollution just look at what is happening where they have been allowed in. You will be disgusted to know that now Florida Power and Light, Duke Energy, and Teco/People's Gas has formed a pro data center alliance . It is called Florida Digital Infrastructure Alliance. I don't believe FPL should have any say so about communities having data centers! Of course they would want them! More energy equals more profits! I do not trust a damn thing they say! I find it interesting that here in Escambia County a new position of Economic Development was just created for FPL retiree Rick Byars. Also the head chair of the PEDC is also from FPL. How is FPL being put in charge of economic decisions in the best interest of the people of Escambia County? We don't even want them in charge of our power company and very much wish to send them packing. Now I do not know about other counties, though I'm willing to bet it is the same. This update is to inform you all,but to also ask for your help. Tomorrow 8/6 is the day that Escambia Commisioners vote to ban data centers. Unfortunately, as the ordinance sets its 50 megawatts and above, large and hyper scale. We were never under threat of those! We have not been forced to pay four increases to strengthen a grid for data centers to come in and suck up our water too!!! This is a crisis! Commisioners had previously discussed , adding the words any all or a I. This ordinance contains none of it , and if we don't show up and tell them it's not good enough in mass numbers , that's likely what we'll get. Please email Escambia County Commissioners and tell them, do not pass this ordinance. As it sets , we need more protections. We do not want small , medium or large data centers , sucking up our water and using enormous amounts of electricity on the grid we paid to upgrade. The data centers did not pay for that! If you are here local in a Escambia , I beg you, please show up at the county commission meeting tomorrow 8/6! I know we're all tired. I know kids are going back to school. But if we do not show up , we're gonna be stuck with data centers just like we're stuck with FPL! See you 8/6 5:30pm 221 S. Palafox St !! Public forum starts at 4:30 pm and I will be talking about FPL. They are infiltrating positions. They should not be in. Making decisions they should not be making. It is starting to look like a conspiracy.
