The informed drives repayment plan has been a lifeline for me. I am a working teacher and musician, so income fluctuates from month to month. These changes will be devastating.
Help us keep our heads above water by keeping these plans
I too have went through the strayer programs. I also feel used. The total cost after everything is way more than was expected. I feel like when it was discussed in registration they made it sound way better than it turned out. I do not feel anymore prepared to utilize the degree I did obtain from them. I have looked into jobs using my degree and many require knowledge of certain platforms or working medias that were never discussed. I am now in the repayment part of my loan with no reach outs from the school about any form of employment like they acted like they would help with. No reach outs in general. They weren’t particularly helpful when it came to classes. Most of the classes weren’t very helpful. It felt more like counseling classes and I was taking a business degree. I feel like they used celebrities to make their classes seem more important. Like queen Latifa “taught” one of my classes. Which basically just consisted of videos talking about how to believe in yourself.
In short, Strayer is definitely questionable and I do not feel like 60000+ debt is worth it
I am a 66 year old woman with over $75K of student loan debt. Notified that my loan was back in repayment status even though I am confirmed to be on forbearance status until December 2025. I fail to understand how the Dept. Of Education can promise one thing, in writing, and then yank that out from under you with no explanation other than -TRUMP. This will be reported to my Senator.
