My daughter has hearing aids and loud noise affects her so much that we have to avoid this pool.
Before she was in Kindergarten we were able to find times that would work.
There are not enough open swims during the week at reasonable hours that force all the kids to only be able to go at the one time increasing the overall noise.
Please take this petition seriously.

Considering all of the people in the Valley with sensory issues, brain injuries, neurodivergent children and adults, people swimming with small children who need to hear them over the din, and people just looking for a nice, quiet swim - I can't believe there is not even 1 quiet time. Frankly, it should be the norm, with music during teen swims or special events.
As a parent, I need to hear my kids. Music and trying to keep tabs on my kids, is too stimulating and we all end up grumpy and overwhelmed. The car ride home is terrible. For me it makes me really anxious to not be able to hear my kids when I’m looking for them, water safety is important. Especially when a wave pool is involved.
As a solo female rmt who's been practicing for 3 years now I have had several clients say inappropriate sexual comments. I hope for more resources - education in navigating such situations.
Citing over 80% of RMT have endured sexual abuse is not surprising. I even had incidences while at the student clinic, throughout my career and now entering my 30 year, less so now but I have my stories of threatening behaviour as a few patients expressed their mental instability by trying to intimidate a therapist. Zero tolerance from anyone is the best policy. Some require immediate removal. Great to see the CMTO may well give some support in this matter. In my day of need, I had to realize I was on my own regarding their help. Grateful for change! Thank you for addressing this issue and pursing change!
I came to Secord a few months ago, and it has been the best school I’ve ever been to. It’s awful how someone just decides to cut the funds for the thing that they are most recognized for, THE ARTS.
I didn’t attend Laura Secord but I knew former students who had a deep sense of pride for their arts program.
Whether this is a sole move by the school board or it’s in combination with lack of funding from the Ministry of Ed we need our voices to be loud and heard and say we won’t take the same tactics that have been used in the US to gut funding to the ever needed arts for our students.
As for secondary schools with such a renowned program within Niagara, and even Ontario, I can't think of a single one besides Laura Secord Secondary School. Being in Grade 12, going into 12B, and spending my entire highschool career here because I auditioned to be here on drums with a Vulfpeck cover doesn't deserve to be pushed aside. So many of us brilliant and striving minds have come here with a passion. Don't let us leave with just a paper and a memory of what once was. Especially the younger grades coming exactly what we came for and were served.
I was in dna in highschool and I’m now in design school. I would not be where I am without the various arts courses and extracurriculars that were offered to me and I think it’s important for new students to have those opportunities available to them.
I am a parent of two kids who are wanting to pursue careers in theatre arts and as someone who works in tech and sees very well where things are headed, we need to double down in investing in our creative futures. Arts must be protected and valued. Take a look at the AI generated 3 armed drummer above. This isn't a future of arts we should accept.
