Highly disapprove Dutch Royal state visit to Kenya. There is serious human right violation here in Kenya currently being perpetuated by Kenya Kwanza regime. Young people have been killed and abducted as a form of suppression. Such a visit will only legitimize the regime and it's nasty behaviours. The Royals should focus on calling out this regime and also sanction it. I request the Royals to honour my request and many other

The president of Kenya does not respect the constitution at all. He is abducting youths and foreigners, taking them to unknown locations and the constitution is very clear, when someone is arrested they should be presented in court to be charged but this is not happening at all. Some of the abducted youths are found killed which is so sad. Government officials are also being targeted if they do not agree with the president

We call for the immediate cancellation of the Dutch loyal state visit to Kenya, as the current Kenyan President has been responsible for serious human rights violations, including abducting and killing of critics like G.Z., who spoke out against the regime. In addition, the President has been accused of embezzling public funds, stashing millions in overseas banks while Kenyans continue to suffer from poverty, unemployment, and a decimated public education system. Citizens are left without jobs, their livelihoods are destroyed, and many have gone months without receiving wages for work performed. These grave issues must not be ignored, and Kenya must be held accountable for its actions before any diplomatic relations or state visits are conducted.

I am writing to express my grave concern regarding the planned state visit of the Dutch royal family to Kenya. Given the ongoing and severe violations of human rights in Kenya, including the alarming cases of forced disappearances and abductions, I strongly believe that this visit should be reconsidered and canceled. It is especially troubling to note that the current President of Kenya, William Ruto, has been implicated in the violence surrounding the 2007-2008 post-election period, during which widespread atrocities took place- I being one of the VICTIM. Despite his involvement in these events, which led to significant loss of life and suffering, he has not been held fully accountable for the role he played. As you are likely aware, these actions were so grave that they led to charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC), underscoring the need for justice and accountability. As the home of the ICC, The Hague stands as a beacon for international justice and the protection of human rights. A state visit by the Dutch royal family to Kenya, where human rights abuses remain prevalent and where individuals linked to such violations continue to hold power, could be perceived as an endorsement of the oppressive practices in the country. This would contradict the values of justice and human dignity that The Netherlands has long championed. Therefore, I respectfully request that the Dutch government reconsider and cancel the planned state visit to Kenya. It is vital that the royal family not lend support to a regime that has not yet addressed its past crimes and continues to perpetuate human rights violations. Instead, I urge you to use diplomatic channels to press for meaningful change, accountability, and respect for human rights in Kenya. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I trust that the Dutch government will prioritize the protection of human rights and justice in its foreign policy decisions. Concerned Kenyan Citizen

To the Zurich Canton Police and the Swiss Government,  I am adding my voice to those of others asking that you set Ali Abunimah free and allow him to speak. The Swiss have long prided themselves for staying neutral in foreign conflicts, though this arrest is the opposite of neutral. Clearly it takes the side of the oppressors of the Palestinians, including the United States government. To stay neutral, you need to free Ali and allow him to speak, just as you would allow a journalist with a different perspective to do the same.  On January 21, many of us celebrated the birth of Anabaptism, which took place in Zurich. The persecution they suffered at the hands of the authorities was of mythical proportions. I grew up in an Amish family with a copy of “The Martyr’s Mirror” in our home. Those early Swiss martyrs were my ancestors.  Please do not repeat this dark history by making martyrs of those whose religious or political views you do not share. Please live up to your reputation of being neutral in foreign affairs and allow people to give voice to the oppressed.  Thank you for your consideration.

We need our journalists now more than ever. Keeping them imprisoned is a sign of fear and control by those who want to dictate how we should live. This is not freedom.

Journalists are essential for keeping the public and the world informed especially in times of genocide and atrocity.

People may not agree with everything Ali says, but he has been a brilliant fighter for sharing news about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the struggle for Palestinian human rights. And everyone has the right to criticize Zionism as an ideology, and that does NOT mean you are antisemitic. I know scores of Jews who are passionate about their Jewishness who range from bitter criticism of Israel to actual anti-Zionist stances. It would seem that arresting Ali is an insult to free speech and democracy.
