This news is VERY disappointing. From siblings getting spilt up to the grade 8s not having a proper last year..this decision has ZERO pros. You decide to put housing over education, yet don't realize the houses you are building will have children too! This cause needs to be addressed and not ignored! We are the future, yet we don't have a stable school community and have been having to move schools over and over again! Please think of a sensible outcome rather than us having to protest for this important matter.

We’ve been promised a proper building for years, and every time we get close, it gets pushed back again. It’s unfair to keep students in overcrowded or temporary facilities while new homes are being built around us. Education should be a priority, and right now it feels like we’re being forgotten. We need a stable, permanent place to learn—not more broken promises. If the people in charge won’t listen, then we, the students, will take matter in to our own hands and have our voices heard. This school needs to be built now, not later.

The magnitude of what these children are experiencing is shaping their very future. It is disheartening to see them thrown around to crumbling holding cells in the name of schools, just like cattle. To play the land acknowledgment at board meetings and continue to displace these kids from their community seems like hypocrisy. Do better. No more excuses. Sort this horrendous mess out immediately. The children and the parents of this community are done making up for your mistakes and oversights.

It was their chance to get through in a good way, and it's being taken from them without considering how much it will impact them. It's also stressful for families when children are separated and sent to other schools. All of these changes are taking a toll on students mental health we don't feel secure or supported. The school that they had committed to constructing in 2022, and now it's already 2025 and we're still being relocated. It makes me feel as though the people who are making decisions do not care about how much it is impacting us.

This is totally unacceptable because we had been promised to be at the new school in 2022 and is that true? NO. They need to start prioritizing building our school for once before building homes. Everyone is sick and tired of moving schools and for once we were promised a stable school to go to in September and that is being taken away from us. If nobody is going to stand up for this then students will be the ones to take action. This cause needs to be taken seriously.

Social work is a demanding and emotionally intense profession. Trying to maintain full-time hours, while not being paid, and having a job or family leaves no time for self-care. If an issue arises in one's life, this becomes even less likely. When dealing with a family issue and worrying about practicum hours, it becomes impossible to ensure you are taking care of yourself.

I was a student in 2018-2020, and unfortunately time within the program was cut short by the pandemic lockdowns. To this day I would give anything do go back and finish my year. I met so many incredible faculty who had a genuine connection with their students and their work and made profound and positive impacts on the students education. The access to information, supplies, and like-minded artistic comraderie in the environment of BealArt is something I have been unable to find since. I made several close and dear friends through this program, many of whom I still speak with daily. Without out of town bussing for myself and many other students, none of this would have been possible.

Kenz apoyó esta petición: Protect Bussing for BealartI was a student in Bealart from 2016-2020. I was fortunate enough to be able to walk and later on take public transportation to school. But many of my peers relied on school busses. Bealart isn’t just an art class, it’s a community and safe space for students. As an alumni of the program I still attend the annual art show every year and every year I see familiar faces from throughout the years I was in the program. Bealart impacts students through their adolescence into adulthood and I believe that shows by the continued support for the program even after graduation. Through Bealart and its staff, students gain access to resources many aren’t even aware of. In the fall, various post secondary schools send representatives to interview and talk to students- even potentially offering scholarships. This gives students ways and options to further their education after this program is over for them. Without transportation for most of the department to get to school, Bealart could be forced to shut down. I really do believe if the program is forced to shut down it would be a major tragedy that would impact our youth for years to come.
