This is farm community. It's rural community. This isn't the place for a data center. Yes there are areas nearby that are suburban, even metro areas which are far better suited for a data center. But this is not the area. If the data center is permitted, then it's only a matter of time before that expands or someone wants to piggy back next to it and then eventually there is no more rural area. Farmers are forced to give up their livelihoods. We the citizens also feel that it will create a strain on the power and water grids as well as deeply affect property taxes. No longer do we have quiet country homes but we have homes that are directly across the road from a data center. And if given the opportunity will eventually encircle the housing edition. People choose to live in the country for a reason. And this is not the reason. With the addition of a data center, how many residents will feel the need to relocate. No one that I know that lives here wants to see this. Please reconsider this matter and say NO to this data center.
Justice for Louis and his family - especially the children - my children suffered similar - lost our home, family business and business building - due process? NOPE! we are NOT part of their Just Us system
I am adding my voice because initiatives like this are a detriment to real efforts to protect freedom, support community, and foster new ways of living based on true kindness, care, compassion, and cooperation. I have also been personally insulted (called "intellectually dim") by Sacha Stone when I approached him with honest questions. It seems this is predominantly a pay day for him, as he seems to have no financial stake or intent to live here himself, nor do the majority of speakers booked for his solstice event. He seems to be most popular with older women (look at the FAQ of who has signed up), who are taken in by his charisma and word salad rants. To me, this is less of a cult and more straight up scam that has very low chances of success.
Here is a letter I wrote to one of the speakers...
While I would love to hear you speak while you are in my area, I looked into what is being proposed here and cannot support it. I wonder if you have really looked at this?
As someone deeply committed to genuine sovereignty and the rejection of hierarchy and authority, I find profound contradictions in this project:
The NewEarth initiative claims to oppose systems of control while simultaneously creating hierarchies through “Golden Ticket” memberships and exclusive access tiers. It criticizes existing power structures while those willing to give $100k are buying status, access, influence, and priority. It seems to be establishing a new aristocracy cloaked in vapid spiritual language.
The demographic reality (median age 60+, 70% female) versus the physical labor required reveals another disconnect. What they've described is essentially a retirement community where the older members provide the capital and young families and/or hired help to do the actual labor. The potential for an implicit class hierarchy is high, while the actual self-sufficiency is low.
The FAQ does little to address a concern that this appears structured to generate revenue (likely for Sacha) without accountability or actual shared investment. Spiritual language and sovereignty concepts are being used to justify premium pricing while leaving fundamental questions about governance and sustainability unanswered.
Even the event is marketed in a way that reinforces and seems to exploit belief in authority by featuring speakers with aristocratic titles, like chiefs, his holiness, sheriff, king, etc. It reinforces the very hierarchical thinking that positions certain people as more important or more worth listening to based on status rather than substance. And the price point is exclusionary, particularly for the local people here in NE TN. And I’m guessing the vast majority of the speakers have no actual stake in the project or area but are just along for the payday.
It is also quite arrogant to position this as teaching the local community and bestowing benefits on them, as they are the ones who have worked that land for generations.
I’m saying this because we are at a point where we need to hold each other to higher standards. The probability of success of this initiative, as measured in their vision vs what is likely to happen, is very low. And the idea that it will be a model for true sovereign, New Earth living is contradicted by the very structures being proposed at its inception. My concern is that initiatives structured this way may undermine our collective credibility, integrity, and the important principles we stand for.
I grew up down the road in Morristown and now live on the other side of Hawkins County in the Bristol area. I know the areas in which this "nation" is trying to gain a foothold. I did some research on this group it screams cult. I don't care what people chose to do with their time and money. I do not want to see a nutcase worshipping cult compound brought into my beautiful rolling hills. This group also has been holding webinars stating "Arise Guerrilla news" referring to activists and military and political leaders. I would rather not have a small army with strange ideals being built in my backyard. This is not a couple trying to create a "couples retreat" with their own earnings. This is a strange group that is charging people 10,000 dollars for a "Golden Ticket" to join them. Plus yearly membership fees and other "initiatives" that charge exuberant prices. It's a scheme to take advantage of the highly impressionable and weak minded. It seems like it's a cult that worships a nutcase activist that tries to take advantage of lost people searching for community. If we can stop this from happening it would most likely be in our best interest.
I have been a resident of Stanley Valley for almost 8 years. Cults like these are acceptable out West such as CA, NV, and CO. I do not understand why they are pushing it this way, wanting to expand to East TN. We love our small community and farmland without these "groups" around our children and homes. I have done extensive research of this "New Earth" along with Sasha Stone he is a false leader to his "people". Allowing this to come to our county will only allow more of these to come along with this. Especially a group who are their own "law "will not do great attempting to break the laws by the surrounding neighbors. Unfortunately allowing this to happen I will have to sell my farm that I've put my whole life into because I refuse to raise my toddler near these people.
We chose to move to Surgoinsville because the population was very small, among all the other wonderful things about it. Increasing the population by a thousand people would completely change the beauty of this quiet, charming town. Additionally, the cult could influence our young people in a way that would be detrimental to our way of life and our town’s future.
As a concerned resident of Church Hill, I am signing this petition to strongly oppose the establishment or activity of a group widely regarded as a cult within our town.
Our community prides itself on being safe, supportive, and united. The arrival of this group poses serious concerns not only about public safety and the emotional well-being of our residents, but also about the strain it would place on our already limited local services.
Groups with cult-like characteristics often bring with them a pattern of psychological manipulation, exploitation, and conflict—issues that frequently result in increased calls to law enforcement, mental health services, and emergency medical responders. This would place an unfair and unsustainable burden on our police, ambulance, fire departments, and local hospitals, which are not equipped to handle the increased demand.
We urge our local officials and decision-makers to take these risks seriously. Our police officers, healthcare workers, and first responders are already stretched thin. Allowing this group to settle or operate within Church Hill could divert essential resources away from those who truly need them and endanger the health and safety of our broader community.
This is not a matter of religious freedom or personal belief—this is about protecting Church Hill from coercive and dangerous influence. We call for appropriate legal and administrative measures to prevent this group from gaining a foothold in our area.

I was born and raised here in Hawkins County, living on my grandparents' farm in Stanley Valley until I was 5 years old. Although my parents and I moved to Church Hill, I still spent much time on that farm, including weekend stays, until I was in high school. Stanley Valley is so dear to me and I can't imagine an "organization" such as this coming in to this beautiful area. I've been researching NewEarth Micro Nation for several months, and there's nothing good about these people!
As a resident of the county and someone who lives just minutes from this proposed site… our area does not
have the infrastructure to support a wave of newcomers of this amount. Especially those who want to be a “sovereign nation”. They won’t be paying taxes or contributing to our community, but they will instead be a drain. Parasites. Where will their waste (both human and garbage alike) go? Into the creek that flows through and past the property? Will they pay to repair the little 2- lane country road that will be destroyed with that much traffic? No. We do not need or want this in our community.
