There is never a time that an adult, doesn’t matter who they are, should put their hands on a child to commit violence. As a parent, this enrages me, and should enrage the entire community. The Chief of Police holds a position of power - they must be held to a higher standard. A “resignation” should be the tip of the iceberg for this horrifying human being. If he is assaulting children, what other crimes does this man commit. He belongs in prison with the people he put away.
We've seen the videos. The police chief started the violence. We saw an unidentified man push his way into a crowd of children and start grabbing kids, then put a girl into a choke hold. There was no reason to use this kind of excessive force. He should have been the one arrested. If I had been there, I would have reacted the same as those kids to defend her.
As a former employee who dedicated years to Grameenphone, it’s heartbreaking to see our rightful 5% profit share withheld and our peaceful protests met with force. We helped build this company with loyalty and hard work, now we’re simply asking for what was promised. This fight is about fairness, dignity, and respect for the people who made Grameenphone what it is today.
"I stand as one of the petitioners and a part of this movement. We approached our company peacefully to claim what is rightfully ours, but we were denied any access or opportunity to be heard. When we peacefully protested in front of the office, we were forcibly detained, subjected to water cannons, and the women workers were harassed—having their clothes pulled and being physically assaulted. This is completely unacceptable. Through this petition, we want to raise a strong public voice against this violation of workers’ rights, human rights, and the dignity of female employees."
As a sexual assault survivor myself, I know first hand how devastating it is when the police don’t do anything. There was more than enough evidence in this case and a proper investigation wasn’t done. Not only is that life wrecking to the victim but you leave these criminals free to do it to the next woman. And as we can see, sometimes the next woman also loses her life.
As a young woman I was so sad and disappointed that Palm beach county police would treat the victim the way she was treated. It makes me fearful knowing that if something were to happen like this woman nothing would be done. The victim deserved justice but instead the cop told wade steven Wilson he’s doing a fantastic job and he has to believe him. That makes no sense considering he had a record before this accusation was made that should’ve prompted the officer to investigate further or do his job and actually wait for DNA results. This was complete negligence and this officer doesn’t deserve his position.
I have personally witnessed CT State Trooper Bryan Fahey violate the civil rights of a journalist on multiple occasions—with zero accountability. His actions are not only unconstitutional but deeply un-American. This country was founded on the principles of free speech and a free press. When law enforcement officers act with such blatant disregard for those rights, and face no consequences, it sends a chilling message about where we are headed as a society.
If Trooper Fahey represents the standard of conduct that the State of Connecticut is willing to accept, then Connecticut has lost its way. It is unacceptable that no one in state government has had the courage to condemn this behavior. Silence in the face of injustice is complicity. This is a disgrace to every citizen who still believes in the rule of law and the Constitution.
We must demand better. We must demand accountability. Connecticut, do better.
