I shared some Bartlett Pear with a German friend and he was gobsmacked at the absolute perfection of the bouquet and finish. His reaction: “Maybe I think this is better than the local Williamsbirnen at home…”

Since restaurant and bar licensees must purchase their spirits at LDB stores or direct from producers, BC craft spirits will never be featured in restaurants except for those chains who can afford a whole case of a product. As a distillery owner, we are having to export our products to other provinces and countries to grow our business past direct-to-consumer and private BC liquor stores, when most of the BC spirits market is served by LDB stores. Manitoba (MBLL) has a small producer break to list in their province. The BCLDB does not need to reinvent the wheel, only to look to Manitoba as an example of successful system that benefits all small Canadian producers.
