I'm usually not this outspoken about anything but this is our democracy and rights as human beings this election makes absolutely zero sense and we need a re-vote! I believe they got rid of ballots so a recount might not help. Please let's do something before it's to late for women, people of color, LGBT and immigrants!!

I feel like the government is trying to take women's rights away, and make it impossible for women to figure out what exactly is needed to keep our "birthright," as a US citizen to vote, just because we took on our husband (ex-husband's) last name. This tactic is not going to make or break the votes for the next election, by making women "invisible!" This is America! Not some country that women don't have rights! Sadly, I feel like this is only the beginning....

We fought as women to have the right to vote in the civil rights era. There is no way in hell we are going back. We will keep fighting. We deserve to vote, married or not. Men do not control us. Men do not get to silence our votes. This is not making America great again. Vote NO. We deserve better ladies!

My spouse should not be restricted in her ability to vote just because she chose to adopt my last name. The intentionally vague wording of this act hints at its intent as a tool for voter suppression, and should therefore be scrapped in its entirety.

This act disproportionately does a disservice to women when voting. It's like a voting tax that keeps us from easily voting and using our voice. Stop trying to silence us because you want to control us.

Put simply, if we are going to continue to allow married men to vote, it is blatantly sexist to deny women the right to do so, and although marriage is a deep and very sacred bond between 2 people, one does not cease to be an individual when one marries, and so neither individual present within a married couple should be denied their God-given individuals rights.

As a man, I stand beside every woman who has changed her last name, whether that be through marriage, or some other personal decision. As an American, I stand beside every person who has changed their last name, for whatever personal reason they see fit. Including myself, who changed my last name to honor my maternal grandparents, who helped raise me, whilst my father was nowhere to be found.

Sadly my great grandmother, my grandmother, my mom have more rights now than my daughters do in 2025. Most people can't afford 300.00 for a passport. Most women take their partners last name when they get married. Then there are people like myself who can't marry my long term partner as I'm disabled I would loose all of my benefits. There are millions of people who choose to keep their madden names and or hyphenate their last names when they get married. Unfortunately this is just another way to control women as objects instead of being treated like the humans we are.

I am not old enough to vote so I can only share and type out some half-assed comment about politics but I am a woman myself. Most people in my family are woman as well so the situation affects all of them. To hear of women in america losing their right to vote again after everything we've done to get our equal rights is just bringing us more back in time. A future where I'm old enough to vote and STILL can't because of misogynistic views is disgusting.
