The price of food anymore is unreal.it would save on my wallet to be able to raise my own chickens.. plus they keep the bug's down and it's great education for the grandkids gives them responsibility
This has been a trail My wife and I take our little girls to explore and enjoy for many years when going for a family walk we discovered this white fence with no trespassing posted! This was extremely upsetting for My family to see, so we want to take action against it.
This path was the safest way of getting to Umstead park without driving or having to bike a long way on the street. This fence takes away a lot of the walkability of this community. I hope at least the small path through the woods joining the 2 neighborhoods can be opened up
We've been using this access to easily reach umstead for family walks, as well as the many trails for mini hikes and educational purposes for our young kiddos for almost a decade. This was the highlight of the neighborhood, and especially as summer approaches, losing access to not only OUR community trails but Umstead...
P.s. I've never seen a motorized vehicle within these trails in 10 years. It's ALL families with young children, folks walking their dogs and the occasional bike. We want it back.
I live right around the corner from the connector trail. I used it several times per week. The first time I approached the trail and saw the closure, I was actually stunned. I started a different petition to ask to reopen as soon as I could. That petition can be found here: https://www.change.org/p/reopen-community-access-to-poyner-road-trail-and-umstead-park-in-raleigh-nc I notified the signers of the petition I started so that those who don't know will know now. Please consider at least opening up the connector trail. Thank you.
I have used this trial/access point for running and walking my dog for years - since I moved into the Delta Ridge neighborhood. Very disheartening to now have this area vehemently blocked-off from any access, based on the irresponsible actions of a small # of people/isolated incident(s); none of which are the vast minority of long-time, responsible users of this area for actual outdoor recreation Nd personal enjoyment.
This median continues to create a dangerous situation for both sides of traffic. I have anxiety every time I try to make this forced u-turn. Please remove the median to create a safer situation for all parties involved!
My wife and I bought our home in woodbine because of the cozy neighborhood. We are now raising our first kid here and love it. There is already a lot of traffic in our area and reasoning would only complicate that and make it less safe for our kid. Refining is not what this neighborhood wants or needs.
I oppose Ms. Welsch's proposal for rezoning and design overlay of the residential transect of the 16th District. I am not opposed to the improvement and development of the neighborhoods within. I want South Nashville to become a vibrant neighborhood that retains its cultural influence in this city. It is already happening in some ways. I want to see my neighbors invest in their properties and want to welcome the evident growth potential. I just want to make sure that it is done with consideration and in complicity with those who have called these neighborhoods their home. This should be the vision of a collective neighborhood and not the whims of a councilperson who only pulled in approximately 6-7% of the eligible votes in her district and is actively working with developers, which she is.
We have a cozy home in Woodbine and love the neighborhood as is. Changing the zoning without the consent of the community is wrong. Residents should be included in major decisions and informed about proposals that affect their communities.
