4,000 Voices. One Message: North Sunnyvale Matters
We have reached 4,000 signatures.
This is an extraordinary milestone, and it belongs to every person who signed, shared the petition, spoke up, sent an email, attended a meeting, talked to a neighbor, or encouraged us to keep going.
To all of our supporters, thank you. Thank you for believing that North Sunnyvale matters. Thank you for helping amplify the voices of neighbors who might otherwise never be heard at City Hall. And thank you for reminding us what is possible when a community comes together.
At the heart of this effort are older adults navigating the shopping center with walkers and carts, parents with young children, working families, neighbors who rely on these businesses as part of their everyday lives, and the minority-owned small businesses that have served this community for years and are now facing an uncertain future.
Many of these residents and small business owners may never make it to City Hall. They may never send an email, attend a Council meeting, or stand at the podium during public comment.
But their voices matter. Their needs matter. And they deserve to be represented. These 4,000 signatures help carry those voices forward.
Our community has made something unmistakably clear: North Sunnyvale is asking to be seen, heard, and given the attention and urgency this issue deserves.
Now we are asking our city leaders to help move this issue forward.
We are asking our City Manager to recognize that the future of an entire part of Sunnyvale, and access to something as fundamental as groceries, cannot be left to market forces.
We are asking our Mayor to focus attention on the need for equity, leadership, and grocery access in North Sunnyvale.
And we are asking our District Councilmembers to use their voices and their advocacy to stand with the residents they were elected to represent.
Four thousand people have spoken.
Now we are asking City Hall to show us what meaningful action looks like.
