Astoria residents are really at a disadvantage if we lose this lifeline into Manhattan. I use this bus on the many weekends - like the Memorial Day weekend coming up - when the N doesn’t go into the city. We’re getting short shrift here again.

Thank you for putting this together. You can only grade a road so often without actually putting down new material. To expect the road to magically fix itself, is mind blowing. Due to the amount of new homes built over the last 10 years, additional traffic, heavy trucks traveling down the road, and lack of material, it’s impossible to think without paving the road the roads will “magically” get better. The pot holes are ridiculous and the road is embarrassing. Let’s get it done.

Being a truck driver myself (with 1 million safe miles) i see so many flaws in the system when it comes to the people who control the trucking industry. I think it's time to have a real experience in the seat.

Newer Owner Op. been driving since 2022, and while I cannot speak from the same level of experience, I can speak from the POV as someone who grew up around the industry. Until the FMCSA can put someone in charge that has experienced the issues we face on a daily basis, our industry will continue to be as dangerous as everyone claims it is. We need real experience, a real driver in this position. Someone who has lived, breathed, eaten, and slept on the very roads that an FMCSA administrator is charged with securing.

I have been a truck driver for over 20 years. This is a much needed change. You cannot understand what laws are needed or not needed unless you have had experience driving in this field.

I do believe we need someone in this office that really understands trucking is not just a job, it's also a life. Beurocrats and lawyers will never understand what this job takes. Only someone who has spent alot of time behind the wheel would. So, yes. We need a driver in this office

Safety manager here, specifically Elogs. The current rules force drivers to work when tired and are extremely inflexible. Rules seem like they are put in place by people who have never driven OTR.

I have been driving truck for 21 years I've watched it go from good to bad to worse and as a fellow driver out here we all say we need somebody who knows the industry running the industry not somebody that went to college and is good putting things on paper they need to know the grind that we go through the heartaches we go through the hardships we go through having a fellow driver running FMCSA would help the truck and Industry tremendously
