Whatever a person's race, nationality, colour, creed, level of intelligence, marital status, age, gender, sexual orientation, background or religious beliefs, I strongly believe that, when it comes to fulfilling the basic human need for proper food, clean water, adequate clothing and shelter, to be treated with dignity and respect and, tying all these basic necessities together, being an integral part of a caring and sharing community where one is able to love others and to be loved in return, we are all equal. Therefore, only when all of us as global citizens understand this fundamental and essential truth about what it really means to be a part of the human race, can ALL of us be free to contribute to the common good in society - and not because he or she feels forced to! Likewise, for anybody who believes that working together for peace is very difficult, I urgently need to remind you that the cost of war (such as wholesale destruction of private property and other vital infrastructure, physical injury, psychological trauma, permanent disability, socio-economic disruption, poverty, disease, starvation and, most tragically of all, the loss of loved ones) is much, much greater!

Eden Park is a beautiful peaceful place ,I've lived here 24 years , I want the vision of this area to be upheld by the council, not turn it into another development which in turn will bring more people more traffic and more destruction to this rural community and its wildlife . Surely there must be a more suitable site for this type of development.

I’ve grown up in this peaceful and quiet area. A green wedge between the hustle and bustle, rows of houses in the burbs. Please do not take the serenity away. Do not destroy the peace that people in this area have been fighting their entire lives for. Not only will the singular narrow lanes because magnets for accidents and increasing the road toll, but also the dangers of wildlife, that people who do not live in this area may not be aware of. Risking lives for a building is ridiculous.

Preserve Eden Park including 330 Grants Road, Woodstock as a rural lifestyle, farming and green wedge zoning for families and our future generations! This is not the place for a religious temple with the flow on impact of an urban building, noise, construction , and increased traffic and the slippery slope of developers and other organisations vying to suit a few people but not the majority of Eden Park residents who value our peaceful way of life, land and community. This proposed temple better suited to an urban area.

Our family moved to this area for its farming/rural life, a country lifestyle etc, away from urban life. To allow a rural dwelling to be altered, not for a family to enjoy, but an enterprise that is not conducive to the rural life we came here for, needs to be reconsidered and for the Council to listen to the current residents that reside here and stop this from occurring.

I grew up here…..This definitely doesn’t fit what the area represents, will disturb the peace….. upset many who live in the area and as we all well know these things grow and expand beyond what is first applied for …… if you approve this you might as well remove the green wedge too

As a devout Hindu, a place of worship is of utmost importance to me and my community. A divine and holy place we can come to, without feeling being hated by the neighbours who seem to not want the temple in their vicinity. Almost every one of us work, and pay our taxes and own our own homes! Therefore we are most certainly a valuable addition to the Australian economy and the country itself and need to be treated with respect when it comes to our religious beliefs. We should not be subject to racial abuse by the neighbours who are non Hindus and seem to think it’s their right to protest against having a Hindu temple and stop devotees coming to the temple. They complain about cars being parked on their streets, noise smoke and crowd just for the sake of complaining most times. There has been some parking violations and I am certain the temple community is actively educating the drivers not to block drive ways or park illegally. I would urge the Parramatta council to take a fair view and be inclusive of us who are an integral part of the local council.

This temple is a place of worship and solace, it has brought me so much peace and continues to do so day after day.

would like to respectfully raise our concern regarding the new restricted temple hours—limited to just two hours in the morning (6–8 AM) and two hours in the afternoon. While we understand the need for regulations, these current hours pose serious challenges for many devotees, especially women and mothers. Given today’s traffic conditions and the biting cold of winter mornings, rushing to the temple during such early hours becomes not only stressful but also potentially unsafe. For many of us, mornings are already filled with responsibilities like preparing children for school and managing household tasks. Finding a moment of peace before 8 AM is nearly impossible. For countless women, particularly on spiritually significant days like Tuesdays and Fridays, visiting the Shakti temple after school drop-off is more than a tradition—it is a vital emotional and spiritual practice. A calm darshan of Ma Durga brings clarity, peace, and strength that helps us navigate our lives with more resilience and grace. We sincerely request that the temple authorities consider a modest extension of the morning hours—perhaps similar to the previous schedule. This small change could greatly ease the burden on devotees while still being mindful of neighborhood concerns. Thank you for understanding and for supporting the spiritual well-being of our community.
