We are reaching out to our wonderful, diverse community regarding an important development currently under review by the Gold Coast City Council.

There is a proposal for a mosque and community centre to be built at:
📍 9 Vaughan Drive, Ormeau (LOT 6 RP206965)
📄 Application Reference: MCU/2024/513

🕌 There is currently NO Islamic community venue between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
This proposed Islamic Community Centre aims to fill that gap – offering not just a prayer space, but a hub for social support, youth mentoring, family values, and interfaith harmony.

✅ The property owners have gone above and beyond to comply with all relevant Council requirements.
✅ The design ensures zero disruption to neighbours – no loudspeakers, no traffic issues, no public nuisances.
✅ The centre will be privately funded and used only by those on site – just like any other private community gathering space.

🤝 We must not let prejudice or misinformation shape our neighbourhoods.
Supporting this Centre is supporting Australia’s core values of fairness, inclusion, and religious freedom.

🗓️ We have until July 23 to lodge all support submissions to the Gold Coast City Council.
