The issue I see lies within this absorbent “debt adjustment fee”. I called PJEC and they can’t explain what this is for. They spew nonsense about customers using more energy, not true, and the quality and age of each customers home/insulation. If a person uses 3500 kWh in December and 3500 kWh in January shouldn’t those two bills be close to the same amount? Yes, they should be similar not $400+ more. Age and quality of one’s home/insulation has no relevance. I believe this “debt adjustment fee” is an attempt by PJEC to gouge its customers to try and recoup the money lost with their Fiber Optic service debacle. The AG needs to step up and insure those affected by this atrocity do not have their electricity service shut off.

Last winter my bills around $400, December & January bill is $643.31 & $775.02, nothing has changed at my house & I use wood heat. Something isn't right here
