In America where freedom of religion is the law, we need protections for religious groups like pagans, druidism Voudon, and Polynesian traditions.
The hysteria caused by puritanical views brought bigotry and hate to a land where religious expression granted new hope. In order to stop , and eradicate, the hate there must be a path forward for safety and freedom to believe how you wish without the fear and hysteria casting you aside. If witches were deemed evil, the witch trials wouldn't have happened.
I am the descendant of a woman hanged, accused of the bogus crime of witchcraft. It is time we do what we can to right this wrong for all victims of witch hunts.
As a pet owner and someone interested in veterinary science, I know how dangerous English Ivy is to dogs and cats, among other animals (it is abundant and poisonous)
It is past time for younger leadership. GenX, Millenials, and GenZ deserve more of the leadership power to shape the future they will have. The gerontocracy has to end.
I'm an elementary teacher and see everyday the negative effects of lack of funding and lack of educators in the schools I have worked at. I currently teach a STEM Cultural Arts class for 21 classes, 1 hour a week. That is over 400 students what I educate every week! We need more funding, smaller classes, and multiple learning pathways to meet the diverse student needs. Please fully fund our school budgets.
Making Election Day a federal holiday in the United States could increase voter turnout by providing citizens with more time to vote without work conflicts. In the 2020 election, 13.1% of registered voters who didn’t vote cited being too busy or having scheduling conflicts as the reason. Additionally, such a holiday would celebrate democracy, turning voting into a nationwide event. This approach aligns with practices in other countries and has significant public support; a Pew Research Center survey found that nearly 80% of Democrats and nearly 70% of Republicans favor making Election Day a federal holiday.
Many teenagers, like myself, are politically educated and want a say in who rules our country. If the voting age is lowered, it means that younger voices would be heard, it would promote more voting, and possibly encourage more teens to educate themselves politically to prepare. Sixteen year olds should be allowed to vote and stand for what they believe in.
I have enjoyed playing tennis for over 40 years on public hard courts, but the surface is tough on the body. Grass and clay courts are much more forgiving on the body, so I would sure be grateful to have the opportunity to play on either of these surfaces in a public venue.
I’m obsessively in love with tennis, if we can get red clay courts here in Baltimore, I would be over the moon. I would love to see more of a diverse community in the sport and I believe bringing something new like the red clay courts here and FIXING the current hard courts will be able to do it. #tennisforever
