If one person is denied due process, we are all denied due process. If one court order can be defied without consequences, then court orders become worthless. Bring this man home!

This is an egregious abuse of power and an inexcusable mistake. To not only detain someone who has committed no crime and never been charged with one, but to remove him to another country where he is being held in one the worst prisons in existence is inconcievably wrong. Especially when a court order NOT to deport him had already been issued and was active at the time. At bare minimum, the US government should have immediately facilitated his return, and the fact that they've refused to do so should outrage every citizen in this country. This man was not a criminal, there is no credible evidence that he was or is a gang member. He is being relegated to a horrendous fate for what-- a beaurocratic error? It's absurd and callous beyond belief. The negligence and lack of respect shown by the government for fundamental human rights is incomparable. In fact, it has proven itself to be illegitimate, as an institution that routinely operates outside of the law it sets and presents itself as unanswerable to any account. These politicians do not apparently feel they have any obligation to the people who reside in this country, or even to those who elected them. I demand that this situation be redressed and that Mr. Garcia be returned to his home here in the States... Sadly, I am afraid his story is not unique, nor will it be the last of its type. We need to hold those in the country's positions of power to a higher and more stringent standard, letting them know this kind of wanton disregard for the people will not be tolerated.

I do not feel safe in a country without due process for all people. I never thought I would be scared of my own government. Bring Kilmar home to his family.

This family doesn’t deserve to be going through this because of someone’s negligence in doing their due diligence to verify this man’s identity before deporting. How horrible to know this continues to happen in this day and age and worse yet that the US wont rectify their actions and refuses to help this family.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia has legal protected status. To take him was to commit a crime. To act like his life means nothing is a disgrace and a frightening display of this administration’s cruelty and disregard for the rule of law. Bring him and the others back now.

My heart has been hurting every day since hearing about this. I will remember Kilmar and will chant for him (I'm Buddhist, it's like praying) I did not vote for this, I'm starting to doubt the results tbh. I hope we can find a way to come together and oppose this dictatorship and protect our neighbors. Those who matter acknowledge your humanity. I don't want this happening to anyone regardless of criminal history or legal status but especially those who are innocent & on the path to / already having legal citizenship. I can't stop thinking of this & ruminating on how to help. I hope Kilmar is safe & he will get to see his loved ones again. This is so important to me.

The fight to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the United States so he can be afforded his constitutionally granted right to due process sits at the heart of why our founding fathers fought to establish this nation. They rejected the tyranny of kings and dictators, determined to build a country where the rule of law, not the rule of men, would govern. They knew that true freedom could only exist where individual rights were protected from arbitrary power, and where justice was not reserved for the few, but guaranteed to all. Due process is not a privilege. It is a constitutional guarantee, extended to every person under U.S. jurisdiction, regardless of status. It ensures that government power is restrained by fairness, evidence, and proper legal procedure, which are the very foundations of liberty. Denying Kilmar this right does not simply wrong him as an individual; it undermines the principles that separate our democracy from the oppressive systems we fought to escape. If we allow due process to be ignored based on who a person is, where they were born, or how politically inconvenient their case may be, we weaken the protection it offers to every single person living within our borders. Our Constitution does not apply only when it is easy, popular, or convenient. It demands our adherence, especially when it would be easier to look away. Upholding due process, even when difficult, defines us as Americans. It reflects our commitment to justice, fairness, and the rule of law over the rule of fear. To betray that commitment is to betray the very spirit of the American Revolution. We must never forget: the measure of a nation's character is not how it treats the powerful, but how it treats the most vulnerable. It is no accident that the statue of Thomas Jefferson in Washington, D.C. stares directly at the White House, a silent, eternal reminder that those in power are accountable to the principles enshrined in our founding documents. Justice demands that Kilmar Abrego Garcia be brought back and afforded the full constitutional protections he is entitled to. Our Constitution demands it. Our history demands it. And the future of our democracy depends on it. 💯

Horrible precedent. Why would we send people out of the US without due process? Why would we pay 6 million dollars for another country to hold them (for 1 year?) instead of carefully researching and documenting proof of crimes so if criminals re-entered the country in the future we would have historical records that can hold up in future courts? And in respect to Mr. Garcia (and possibly to others in El Salvador or elsewhere), this is an outrage. If this can happen to him, it can happen to any citizen of the United States. Use foresight. Use our democratic system. Refuse to do otherwise! It’s everyone’s job to protect our democracy if you are an American.
