I can’t celebrate a day that represents so much pain for the people who were here long before us. January 26 isn’t just a date ,it’s a reminder of lives lost, cultures broken, and families torn apart. It hurts to think that while some see fireworks, others feel grief so heavy it’s been carried for generations. I support changing the date because I want to live in an Australia that listens, one that honours truth, respects survival, and chooses healing over pride. We can’t move forward until we stop celebrating a day that marks the beginning of someone else’s suffering
