We thank everyone who has taken the time to read, share, and sign the petition.
The issues raised in the petition remain relevant and continue to inform our advocacy, submissions, correspondence, and public communications.
We encourage supporters to continue sharing the petition within their networks and communities.
Every signature helps demonstrate that these concerns are not held by one individual or organisation alone but are shared by many people who care about the future of our whenua, environment, and communities.
Ngā mihi to everyone who has supported this kaupapa.
Representation Update
As our work continues, we remain mindful of the importance of meaningful representation in regional and international Indigenous forums, including through IAWAI.
Representation is not simply about having a seat at the table. It is about ensuring the voices of the people, the whenua, and the communities affected by decisions are genuinely heard and reflected.
We support pathways that strengthen Indigenous participation, accountability, and transparency, and we continue to advocate for approaches grounded in the lived experiences and aspirations of our people.
Genuine representation begins with engagement before decisions are made, not after. Communities should not be expected to continually respond to decisions that have already been formed without their involvement.
Our focus remains on ensuring that the voices of the people, their histories, and their relationships with the whenua are respected and represented.
November Hearing with IAWAI
We continue to prepare for our hearing with IAWAI at the Waikato District Council in Ngaruawahia on 19 November 2026 .
We invite our supporters, whānau, and members of the community to attend the hearing in support. Every person who stands alongside this kaupapa helps demonstrate the importance of protecting our whenua, environment, and the voices of our people.
We look forward to providing further updates as the hearing approaches.
Environment
The protection of our environment remains a core priority.
Representation is not simply about who sits at the table. It is also about ensuring decisions affecting our whenua, waterways, biodiversity, and communities are informed by the people who live with the consequences.
We will continue to advocate for meaningful participation, environmental stewardship, and the protection of places important to our people and future generations.
Ngaa mihi Maioha me Aroha
