Victories in Ethnic and Racial Minorities

Any culture that justify & normalise genocide is severely unwell. To heal & recover ours, we need leaders who identify as human beings before anything else so they have the capacity to recognise the humanity in each ‘other’.

I am Jewish by birth (not believe) and this woman doesn’t represent my family or myself.

Israel has committed crimes and its leaders need to answer for them.

Right now people like Jillian Segal and Netanyahu are harming Jews globally through their actions.

The Australian government should not platform extremism in any form.

An Israeli voice in Parliament.. after we couldn’t even grant our Aboriginal people with a voice in Parliament in their OWN COUNTRY is an absolute disgrace. We can see where your loyalty (and our tax dollars) goes to. My pop didn’t die waiting for his stolen wages for THIS to be our current system. Absolutely shameful!

Having a clearly racist person in this role undermines the objective of a cohesive society within Australia and results in issues of great importance not being aired in a balanced and comprehensive manner.

Gillian Segal is a far-right individual whose actions and public statements have raised serious concerns. She has been accused of supporting hatred against Muslims and Aboriginal communities by funding groups widely considered to promote extremist views.

She has criticised calls for a ceasefire and defended the bombing of hospitals—stances that many view as deeply troubling and out of step with international humanitarian norms.

Segal, who was born in South Africa, served as a director of the National Australia Bank (NAB) from 2004 to 2016. During this period, the bank was implicated in numerous instances of misconduct that were later examined by the Banking Royal Commission. Prior to the commission, NAB had already begun remediation for victims affected by wrongdoing in its wealth management arm, with misconduct dating back to at least 2009. The royal commission also exposed the extensive abuse of NAB’s “Introducer” program, which involved bribery, forgery, and efforts to conceal wrongdoing from regulators.

Segal’s attempts to silence criticism through censorship and increased surveillance represent a direct attack on free speech. Such measures risk inflaming tensions further, and there is concern that antisemitism may rise in response to her reckless and divisive ideas.

I can’t celebrate a day that represents so much pain for the people who were here long before us. January 26 isn’t just a date ,it’s a reminder of lives lost, cultures broken, and families torn apart. It hurts to think that while some see fireworks, others feel grief so heavy it’s been carried for generations. I support changing the date because I want to live in an Australia that listens, one that honours truth, respects survival, and chooses healing over pride. We can’t move forward until we stop celebrating a day that marks the beginning of someone else’s suffering
