I personally have seen the good and bad side of situations like this and too many times heads turn the other way or the issue is covered up or swept under the rug. Many times Police and Corrections officers get in their own heads and get on a power trip and think they are above others and end up breaking the law themselves. Yet they never see any for of disciplinary action because it is not properly investigated and or is swept under the rug. How can we expect the citizens and those who are incarcerated to trust and believe in those who are supposed to serve and protect them and in the correctional officers and other public servants who work in prisons to do their jobs properly when nobody is willing to oversee and enforce that they uphold their oath of office and duties. I have worked in private security and corrections and I know firsthand what happens within prison walls. Regardless of the fact a person is in prison or jail they are still a human being and someone’s father son brother husband boyfriend etc and it’s a very thin and fine line between right and wrong on how you should treat people. I don’t how bad a day you have it’s never ok to take it out on others and it is extremely never ok to abuse your position or office and your oath and mistreat others. People have bad days and go through trials and tribulations on a daily basis and it’s ok to be angry or upset or whatever but it is never ok to take that out on others. If you’re having a bad day then let your supervisor know and stay to yourself and don’t be disrespectful and abusive to people around you and corrections officers are not supposed to abuse inmates who are really just wanting to serve their time and go home. If you as a correctional officer do abuse your power then you should be charged and dismissed from the job just the same as a correctional officer is because they fell for an inmate and began a relationship with that inmate. It’s not right but it happens. Regardless how can we expect people to pay for their mistakes and actions as a society but yet allow those in power trips to abuse their power?!
This is my husband who was beaten by the police and I wanna make a change by standing up to this justice system to let them know they can’t do this to people. They are human just like them and if they can’t protect them then they deserve to serve time for wat they have done and been doing for years. Let’s stand together and lock these criminals up for good
Second chances are everything especially in this situation being that a lot of us get locked up and we don’t know our UC laws so a lot of of these laws that are holding our brothers and sisters are incorrect and it’s foul. They literally trade our physical bodies as labor and as slaves to do their dirty work when we shouldn’t be getting punishment and persecution.. everyone in there deserves a second chance and they should get it and I hope this petition helps to break the illegal and broken system that is in place
I understand the seriousness of past actions, but I also believe that people are capable of change. Their past experiences can help and guide the youth to avoid the same mistakes and live a life of honesty, integrity and purpose. Everyone deserves a second chance!!!
I believe you deserve a second chance in life because you were a young man and people make mistakes and get to grow out of it with time. I know that you have grown to become a better person and especially because you are a father and now a grandfather. You are very much loved by your immediate family especially your brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews who have missed you a lot. You will be a good man to society with hard work and dedication because you are and always have been a good person.
My son has been down 13 years he went in as a 18 year old kid he did the yard thing for 8 years and finally came to grips with the reality that the people he was looking up to were only in it for themselves using anyone they could to their advantage then throwing them to the wolves once they were no longer willing to bend to their needs im proud of my son he gets out in 7 months but in March 2025 they/CDCR are going to mix the yard he's on that scares the hell out of me it should not be legal to jeopardize the lives of individuals that have got away from that ridiculous mentality of hate and greed this needs to end its unprecedented that CDCR can now with no regard put peoples lives at risk .
