My teachers keep attaching links to websites on google classroom, only to find that they are BLOCKED. I get why goguardian exists but this is TOO FAR. My friend was reading a very personal family email one time in class, and our teacher had goguardian open so her email was up for the entire class to see. Goguardian needs to go, as it is a breach of privacy in some cases and also just really annoying.

it blocks YouTube and YouTube music the only thing that keeps me calm during school days without it I feel stressed and uncomfortable so much to the point I just want to cry alone.

GoGuardian blocks EVERYTHING on my computer and I am done with it. When I am done with all of my work, I can't even play any games. I get it, it's there to protect students from risky websites, but games is just a whole new level. IT EVEN BLOCKS STUFF AT HOME DUDE, LIKE GAMES SHOULDN'T BE BLOCKED AT HOME. AND I HEARD THAT IT EVEN TRACKS WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED??? It has the risk of being abused by teachers to spy on students even after school. Well, it can't be removed completely, but at least don't make it block games. If a student is off task, thats their fault in the first place. GoGuardian can even access your account, your mic, your camera, AND EVEN YOUR LOCATION. Even some educational games are BLOCKED on the computer. And whenever I search up a wikipedia page about bypass surgery, IT GETS BLOCKED JUST BECAUSE IT HAS THE WORD 'BYPASS'. Has anyone considered the potential safety hazards that GoGuardian could bring? At least replace it with a less stricter blocking filter. I know that the CIPA thingamajig requires school devices to have a website filter in some way shape or form but GoGuardian has taken it way too far man. It increases the risk of being hacked at home. I'm starting to think if GoGuardian is unconstitutional or not. Well, this is Nathan and this is all I have to say about this stupid thingamajig.

GoGuardian might seem helpful at first, but honestly, it causes more problems than it solves. It constantly watches everything students do online, even when we’re not at school sometimes, which just feels like a huge invasion of privacy. It’s kind of creepy, and it makes it harder to trust teachers or feel comfortable using school devices. Plus, it blocks websites that aren’t even bad, which can mess up research or just make assignments way more annoying than they need to be. It also sends false alerts, so people get in trouble for stuff they didn’t even do. Overall, it’s just way too controlling, and it’d be better if schools got rid of it and focused on actually helping students instead of spying on them.

I really think that this is considered spyware due to the fact that GoGuardian watches students constantly without privacy 24/7, and I get the purpose is to watch students and what they are doing, but it would be nice to see a better extension than this or at least see this extension banned, because if in the wrong hands or hacked, people can spy on you at home and hack your computer too. AND THINK ABOUT IT, IT HAS ACCESS TO YOUR MIC AND CAMERA, ALONG WITH YOUR LOCATION! This is a breach of privacy that is ignoring students' privacy and scaring us all, and I think that in some states/countries this software is illegal due to A: Breach of privacy, B: Used to make staff members literal control freaks, and C: Make you feel pint-sized. WE ARE NOT STUPID! This software shouldn't be allowed either, and as a student, I need this software to be banned.

As a 8th grader, I just want to say that Go Guardian is honestly a terrible invasion of privacy, and it should be taken off all student computers. Sure, it’s supposed to help teachers keep us focused, but it really feels like we’re being watched all the time, which is super uncomfortable. First off, it tracks everything we do online. I mean, come on! If I’m just trying to look something up for a class project, I don’t want someone checking on every little thing I’m looking at. It’s like having a teacher peeking over your shoulder 24/7. It makes me feel anxious, like I can't even breathe without someone knowing about it. Shouldn't school be a place where we feel free to learn? Also, we don’t even know how they’re using our data or who gets to see it. That’s kind of creepy, right? It’s like our online lives are an open book for someone else to read. What if something personal or important gets leaked? It feels like we don’t have control over our own information, and that’s pretty scary. Another thing is that it stifles our creativity. When you know you’re being watched, you’re less likely to mess around with cool ideas or think outside the box. Instead of feeling inspired to share my thoughts, I'm worried about how it’ll look on some monitoring tool. Education should be about exploring new ideas and asking questions, not just following the rules because someone might be watching. Finally, using Go Guardian kind of shows that teachers don’t trust us. It’s like saying, “We don’t believe you can handle this on your own.” That makes it harder to build a good relationship with our teachers. We should be working together, not feeling like we’re being policed. and I'm not saying this so my classmates and I can play games or watch YouTube in class or play games, but its the fact that they block websites that aren't even inappropriate?? idk man. In the end, I really think Go Guardian needs to go. It’s just not cool to have that kind of surveillance in our school. We should have the freedom to learn and explore without feeling like we’re being spied on all the time, like cmon..
