Teacher Windfall Provision: Negative Affects on Social Security Benefits

The Issue

I want to support teachers that are being unfairly treated by the Windfall Provision. The biggest issue with this provision is that a teacher cannot receive social security benefits from their spouse. Secondly, it minimizes social security tax payments with a WEP calculation when the social security taxes have already been paid. Lastly, it affects those teachers that do have a pension.
