Mark William Pocan is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district, a position he has held since 2013. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Pocan is a member of the Democratic Party and has been a vocal advocate for progressive causes. He is the co-chair of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus and chair emeritus of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Before his tenure in Congress, Pocan served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1999 to 2013, representing the 78th district, succeeding Tammy Baldwin. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin. In addition to his legislative work, Pocan is a business owner, operating Budget Signs & Specialties in Madison.
