On August 25th , 2021 a red light runner took the innocent lives of Jazmine Marquez (19) , Kiyvon Martin (19) , Ariyanna Parsad (18) and their puppy Niña. It has been such a tragic loss for all three families. Unfortunately Per capita, Arizona has the highest rate of red light running fatalities while New Hampshire has the lowest rate. Nearly half (46%) of those killed in red light running crashes were passengers or people in other vehicles and more than 5% were pedestrians or cyclists. Penalties for Violating a Traffic Law that Results in Death or Serious Physical Injury. A violation of this law is a class 3 misdemeanor, which carries penalties of a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail, one year of probation and up to $1,000 in fines in the state of Arizona. We need to make all traffic violations that cause a death a criminal matter instead of a civil matter.  The driver who took the lives of our beloved ones is currently walking free! He needs to face harsh prison time. Arizona let’s get justice for Ariyanna Parsad , Kiyvon Martin and Jazmine Marquez and make harsher punishments for red light runners!
