Over the past several weeks, the residents of Wolf Ranch, Colorado Springs have experienced a disturbing and unacceptable escalation in home break-ins, car burglaries, and suspicious late-night activity. These are not isolated incidents — they are repeated, organized, and targeted events that have created a constant sense of fear and insecurity among families who once took pride in calling this neighborhood home. While several recent burglaries appear to have disproportionately targeted members of the South Asian community, it is clear that this problem is not confined to one group or neighborhood. Every resident — regardless of background — deserves to feel safe in their own home. 

Despite numerous reports, community posts, and direct communication with HOAs and authorities, there has been little to no visible response. Residents continue to report the absence of consistent police patrols, public safety communication, and proactive deterrence.

This lack of urgency and coordination is unacceptable. Every day without action puts more homes, children, and families at risk. Residents deserve communication, transparency, and protection — not silence.

Compounding the problem, the extensive and ongoing construction across the Wolf Ranch neighborhood and surrounding areas has transformed large sections of our neighborhoods into unsecured, poorly lit, and easily accessible zones. These unfinished areas have become convenient hiding spots and entry points for criminals, with minimal oversight or security once work crews leave for the day. Residents have repeatedly observed construction vehicles, unfamiliar individuals, and unmonitored activity late at night, yet there remains no proper fencing, warning signage, or accountability from builders or HOAs. This lack of control and visibility has created an environment that actively facilitates criminal behavior, endangering both completed homes and the families who live nearby.

The situation calls for immediate attention and action from local authorities. We need increased police patrols in the area, HOA supported neighborhood watch programs,  mandatory safety standards for construction zones and swift judicial action to address the reported crimes. It is essential that the authorities take these matters seriously to maintain the safety and well-being of all residents.
