Direct the FAA to create a DC Metropolitan Airspace Management Plan

Direct the FAA to create a DC Metropolitan Airspace Management Plan
The Issue
The DC Metropolitan Area has an unusual amount of aircraft traffic, commercial, government, and military, that has a substantial and often detrimental impact on the residents living in and around the city. The location of a major airport in the city's center, as well as the military and government air bases in and around the area, make it of critical importance that an Airspace Management Plan be created, implemented and managed in order to ensure citizens are not inordinately affected by the activity this air traffic creates. An effective plan would include all the local entities that operate aircraft in the area as well as representatives of all the local stakeholders who are affected by the activity. We urge the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in concert with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) to create such a plan as soon as possible.
