Robert Wittman is a seasoned public servant with a diverse educational and professional background. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Virginia State University, a Master's in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, and a Doctorate in Public Policy and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Wittman's career in public service began at the local level, where he served as a Councilmember and Mayor in Montross, Virginia. He also worked as a Health Specialist in the Virginia Department of Health’s Division of Shellfish Sanitation. Wittman advanced to roles such as State Delegate for Virginia's 99th District and Supervisor on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors. Currently, he serves as the U.S. Representative for Virginia's 1st Congressional District.
