Attention AZ Attorney General - We Need Resolution for Arizona Argosy Students

Attention AZ Attorney General - We Need Resolution for Arizona Argosy Students
The Issue
The Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University was closed on March 8, 2019, after Dream Center Educational Holdings filed for bankruptcy, leaving an entire generation of future clinical psychologists with no school, and no plan to continue their education. The former students of AZSPP and other clinical psychology programs under Argosy University’s purview are left to advocate for themselves, yet again, after three years. While the Michigan AG secured little over $2 million dollars in relief for Argosy students, this does not begin to cover the emotional/psychological and financial toll that students faced AND continue to face in the aftermath of one of the worst failures of the Department of Education. No one has been held accountable for the poor management, and potentially fraudulent financial conduct of EDMC and DCEH. Students were left with limited immediate options to continue their education in the state of Arizona, and many were forced to move to other states, or seek other options, including extending the amount of time they were in school, causing more financial and emotional hardship. During the anticipation of closure, people were unable to pay rent, mortgages, and did not have financial means to pay for food and relied upon the goodwill of fellow community members and students.
We call for the investigation of this closure and the Betsy Devos DoE officials, and their approval of the EDMC and DCEH business dealings. We call for approval and assistance with Borrower’s Defense Loan Forgiveness for Argosy Students who were stolen from, and economically and psychologically impacted by the incompetence and fraudulent behavior of the top management and government officials. Please consider signing this petition and asking our government to assist us in demanding and securing justice.
