I am foster mom of medical fragile children. 9 out of 10 kids I have kept have a severe brain injury due to their parents abusing them as a  child. These kids are 100% dependent for the rest of their lives. I wanted to start this petition to bring awareness to parents that abuse their kids that end up with severe brain injuries, or even neurologically devastated. Most of these parents are walking free after almost killing their child. They need to do jail time. They never served ONE DAY!! They were never booked or handcuffed...NOTHING. Also they are able to have visitations with their child and still make medical decisions. When I tried adopting my daughter it took 22 months. We took her into our home at 7 months old. Her biological parents suffocated her at 2 months old. She went without air for 20 minutes. Now she has a brain injury that caused her to have a trach, gtube, seizures, CP, and many more diagnoses. This being said, while she was being fostered, even though her parents almost killed her, they had rights to make medical decisions for this severely abused child. Why??!! It makes no sense. They did not deserve to make ANY decisions. My goal is to pass a law when a child is severely abused to this extent parents should lose rights IMMEDIATELY!!!
