“As someone who works for both Uber Eats and Uber Passenger, I’ve seen a steady drop in pay while the cost of living, gas, and car maintenance keep rising. Despite working long hours, it’s becoming harder to make ends meet. Uber needs to fairly compensate drivers and couriers for their time, effort, and vehicle expenses. We ask for higher base pay, more transparency in fare breakdowns, and better overall support for workers who keep the platform running.”
As an Uber driver, I’m absolutely not satisfied with the pay. Many times, I have to drive long distances with four passengers, only to make 4 or 5 dollars. And that’s with high-end vehicles that many riders don’t even bother to treat with respect or care.
Demand Fair Pay and Better Conditions for Uber and Uber Eats Workers Across BC – Uber shamelessly takes 40–50% of every order while drivers struggle to make ends meet. Did you know?!
During my SALT term with MCC, I always felt supported and cared for by my country reps—they were a rock-solid pillar of stability that I was confident I could count on (and did) through challenging situations with my local partner, and during health issues. I considered them a model of many of the best things about MCC.
I am deeply saddened to hear that not all MCC workers received that same support, and were turned away when reaching out to MCC leadership. I call for transparency and a commitment to do better.
I've known of MCC and known some close friends who served with them. I considered it myself many years ago. So I was deeply saddened to learn about what they have been doing to my dear friends John and Anicka Clarke. I know that they are serious people and great missionaries. They firmly believed they were serving with a great Mission with great principles and love for the countries they served in. I stand by John and Anicka and all the missionaries who were unjustly treated by MCC leadership. I pray that they will submit to God and repent from their ways.
