I am 57 and have broken bones in my body approximately 72 times. I have horrible pain most days. The only thing that allows me any relief to that pain is the THCA. I don’t want to get hooked on opioids and don’t really like them and they work for about 30 minutes. I have a broken thumb and elbow right now.
The doctors put me on addictive medication when I was still in high-school. He kept adding more prescription with addictive properties. I never even found what was wrong at that time because all of the sideffects kept in a haze. I was able to use gods natural medicine and get off all of it. I also found that the herbal medicine actually helped me with everything I had pills shoved down my throat for and I could still think and function. I now know I endometriosis, and ptsd. I can use nature's medicine and still a member of society instead of a zombie who can't work. If I can't work i can't contribute to your states economy and there for I can't keep making you rich. That's what you care about right? Yourself? Your wallet? So you destroying my life would actually hurt your ability to buy another house for yourself. Now times that by all the people that can only function because of this medication. You will destroy 100s of thousands of lives and that will add up to a lot of money you'll be taking out of your pocket. Remember GOD spoke to us through a burning bush. It's a godly plant. If your anti weed your anti-Christian.
This effects my everyday life since i struggle with a eating disorder where i can not feel hunger and will go long periods without eating this helps kicks start my appetite and helps me eat as well as other health issues.
The passage of this law would deny many the natural option for pain, sleep, anxiety and so many other issues. My doc prescribes opioids for back pain and pinched nerves that make it hard to sleep. I hate taking opioids and they are dangerous. I also quit drinking alcohol. THC should not be banned. It can be used safely for adults. Regulate to keep out of minor’s hands just like alcohol, but a total ban is government over reach.
My name is Haley Collins and I’m a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Texas. As a Texan, I take pride in providing a safe, free space for my fellow Texans where they can live as they please. Western individualism and freedom is a pillar of our culture. Leaving well enough alone is our culture. Minding our own business so long as nobody is getting hurt is our culture. Thousands of innocent people who cannot afford chemical medications for their disorders from doctors will struggle without legal access to herbal medicines. Many of my clients are either on Medicaid, unable to afford medication, or having to sacrifice financial freedom to treat disorders like Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar I & II, Schizoaffective Disorder, and Panic Disorder. I’m writing this on behalf of my clients and many others who will be harmed by the removal of this medication. I ask that the legal system glean whatever piece of empathy may be lingering in the back. Please consider that Texas has been a safe haven for those seeking peaceful and independent country and we seek to take pride in being a refuge for those wanting to be away from the chaos.
I am a life-long sufferer of migraines, having had them since a teen (over 40 years ago now). THCA and Delta 8 have helped my headaches much more than any drug I've been prescribed over the years. If I no longer have access to these herbs, it will (literally) cause me pain. The government needs to learn that prohibition is NOT the answer, and it will not "keep dangerous substances off the streeet". It will cause exactly the opposite effect, and will force law-abiding citizens to seek other sources for a NATURAL HERB that alleviates chronic pain.
I am a 50-year-old disabled veteran that suffers from PTSD, and other medical issues. Before discovering THCA and Delta 8, I was prescribed 50 milligrams a day of Vicodin for chronic pain. I was fearful of becoming addicted, so I only took them when I couldn't get relief through rest, creams, heat & ice, etc. I was also on a cocktail of meds for PTSD symptoms, which made me numb inside. I felt like a zombie. These medications could not do what THCA and Delta 8 have done. They have changed my quality of life (and sleep) for the better. If this ban goes through, there will be many veterans that will be harmed by it. I could get into the whole "Big Pharma" is behind this mess, but I think people know that. Anyone (such as lawmakers) that wants to take away the relief that this natural herb gives us, is not a friend of the people, but a little soldier for the pharmaceutical companies. We the People, will primary any of these lawmakers that vote to take away our right to chose how we treat our medical conditions. So, choose wisely, lawmakers.
Making THC a felony in 2025 is absolutely INSANE.
We're living in a mental health crisis, and you're criminalizing something that helps people COPE?!
Big Pharma profits. Alcohol = legal & deadly.
THC = natural & healing.
Stop the hypocrisy. THIS IS NOT WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT!
THCA cured my husband's cancer, helps with his ADHD & crushing social anxiety. The Compassionate Use program costs too much and isn't covered by insurance
